Well, I can't wait to go again!! Hopefully, there won't be 500 fricken cars racing AGAIN!! That kid who brought his Moms Dodge Caravan still makes me laugh!! And that Full size conversion van that ran the 1/4 in 22 and some odd seconds.... what a waste!! But I was happy to know that I could have beaten about 99.9% of all the Jap cars out there that day. Here's hoping to get the springs and headers for next time!! WOO-HOO!!!!
Hey Heather, that guy you liked drove a red Acura Integra, completely stock with 120,000 miles on it and turned 15.3's all day. That Rousch Stang sucked, he didn't know how to drive! That's probably why he was such an ass!!

Damn eric how are your times so much better than mine... The only additional mod you have over me is the pro flow MAF.. would that really give you .3 sec over me??

Ov3n, the proflow is calibrated to the mods that you have so it optimizes the computer/engine for you specific mods. it could very well give any one .3 on a 1/4

never new MAF did much... hmmmmm i have weapon R, Sho y, UDP and Bassani exhaust and only got a 15.77 at 85mph... hmmmmmm but of course this was with my Chip and EGR block... i have since taken out both, i dunno... cant wait till i get headers on!! hehehehehe low 15s or high 14s!!! woohoooo
also your 60' times are decnet on some.... but u must be pulling alot of HP... i have had 2.1 and 2.2 and 2.3, but i only get 15.7s and 85mph trap speeds, something is killing my hp, hope it was the chip and egr block, also what rpms you shift at?????
Take a look at the 'inside ov3ns mtx zn' video, i shift right before the cutoff thingy at 6750 rpm..

Think i'm gonna have to go the 'trevor' route.. with a SCA CAI and the pro flow MAF... I also just contacted yodude about getting a ypipe made (since i cant afford headers yet) with a removable cat..

hehehhehe, i got headers.... might install saturday morning.... wanna help? also i would stay away from SCA CAI, its not worth it, i had both and the SCA CAI would set a CEL every week.. or more like every 250 miles it would come on, i adjusted the MAF etc, moved it around but still got it, it also sucked in performance, it sits right behind the Radiator and Tranny, think top of hood is hot? try sitting between them things, also gets wet very easy too.... the weapon R i have is by far the best intake i have had, combo of the filter and straight pipe.... iam going to make up a ram air thing to get some cold air to it in summer, but if you deceide to get the CAI i will help install as i have done it before, not that hard..

I've thought about a ram air setup for my poor bugger myself i/expressions/smile.gif

Nick, I think everything was just going right that day. Good dry weather, no humidity. We also had that nice southwest wind for us too. I had the ProFlo before on my SHO and I really loved it. It gives you much more high end torque. My whole problem before was getting the MAF to bolt up with the Weapon R, but once I got it all together, it flew. I could definitely tell the difference. If so many people hadn't have been there, then I would have had a chance to break my 15.5's. My r/t's were awful!!! I know if I had a few more runs and a better r/t that I could have easily been in the 15.4's and hitting 90 mph. Then the other thing I did was keep notes of each race I had -- I know you saw all my writing on them. I made sure to write down my launch rpm's everytime and try to figure out optimal performance, but each different launch had different results on my 60' times and ET mph. The other thing I didn't get to do was what that guy came up and told me about. He said that along with dropping air pressure in the fronts to about 18 - 20 psi he also said to pump up the rears to about 60 psi so that they rode on just the center of the tire for less tire resistance from the rear end.
I know you had to get the email from Great Lakes Dragaway the next day saying about their schedule for the upcoming month. If you didn't, let me know and I'll send it to you. They're open a lot for us to maybe go again and have less people there to get more runs in and work on our r/t's and launch techniques. All in all, what I figured out is that I can probably run 15.5's all day from a basic run, which makes me happy. But if we go all out next time and drop everything from the car like spare tire, passenger seat, floor mats and anything else that adds extra weight, that we should be lower than what we were. Because, what it comes down to is that now that I know mine will turn 15.5's pretty easy, it's working for those extra tenths that matter. And that's what drag racing is all about -- getting that little bit of an advantage over the other guy and hoping you can put together the perfect run.
Well, let's get the next meeting for there planned hopefully sometime soon go up again. It will be awesome if no one was there for us to tune our cars and figure everything out that we need too.
Eric N.
what did you normally launch at eric?
I would launch at about 4000 each time (i had my tire pressure at 20psi.. so i would get a sqwak then hook up right away.. next time i'm gonna keep trying a higher rpm until i get too much spin or start getting wheel hop) and i shifted right abotu 6700 or 6750...
might try even smaller wheels next time... the 16's helped lower my ET by about 1/10th...

My best ET came from launching at 2,200 rpm's. I tried as low as 1,800 and up to 3,000. But, too much wheel hop kept me from going any farther up.
I rode all the way to 6,750 everytime too, without hitting the limiter. I'd like to get a chip only to lose that thing so I can go through the traps in 3rd gear, instead of 4th.
