as the title states, CF2K6 probably saved my sister's life. my sister was supposed to fly out to Lebanon this July, but, of course, being the older brother, my plans took precedence. so we bought her tix to fly out in August instead. if fest did not exist, she would be there right now having bombs flying over her head.
so i guess i owe brad an indirect thank you.
thanks brad

Yeah, that stuff over there is crazy. I get so angry when I hear about the stuff going on over there on BOTH sides (Israel isn't a little sweet innocent country in all this, they do their fair share of bullcrap to provoke stuff). Good luck with all your family and everything, hopefully they stay safe.

Does this mean I can claim Cougarfest as a charitable contribution on my taxes?
Glad to hear the date was helpful, but I still owe you breakfast next year, those eggs/hashbrowns were awesome.

Does this mean you think everything will be resolved by August?

It hasn't been resolved for over 2000 years, I don't think they're gonna fix it within the next month. :(

I was being sarcastic. He said it saved his sisters life because she didnt go this month, but she will still be going to next month, and the same sh!t will still be going on.

actually she isn't going anymore. we just postponed it until then, not knowing this was gonna happen.

sure it will be resolved eventually. When someone sets off a nucular device and turns that entire section of the planet into glass.

also, a majority of my family is now in Northern Lebanon in the mountains and they are relatively safe. my employee's daughter was finally transported out of the country by the US embassy to Turkey.
sadly, the $20Billion that was spent in the last 15 years to rebuild Lebanon has been pretty much dumped down the drain. all bridges have been destroyed, leaving the infrastructure in shambles. a 1 hour drive to beirut took 7 hours. trips that cabbies normally charge $10 for are now costing $1500!!!!! it sucks over there.
