View Full Version : Possible to rate transactors?

I don't know what the logistics behind the scenes are (could be potentially a nightmare, especially if people are not honest), but would it be possible to add a rating system for transactions? Something that shows up under the screen name, perhaps a 5 star average of transactions? Or when you click on the profile, you see it?
I understand that that's what we have a transaction feedback section for, but there is so much, that it's difficult to sift through after searching. It's no surprise that a certain person who used to have a "Buyer Beware" tag under his screen name suddenly has such problems with the newer members. Most of them weren't around when that was going on.

its kind of hard... b/c theres nothing coded into the site that can acknowledge that I actually bought something from userX... anyone could inflate or deflate that persons "rating"
unless it was facilitated via a moderator of the feedback forum theres not logisitcal way it CANT be a nightmare

Hopefully someone has already done a vBulletin hack for this ... I will search and see.

Also, somewhat on the topic, remove the ability of people to change their "nickname" (the thing under their screenname) away from a "Buyer Beware" or some other sort of "negative tag", even though they buy the Gold Membership?
And I would be all in favor of some sort of "rating system". Possibly put some sort of "sticky" at the top with everyone's ratings, that way you don't have to sift thru months and months of threads?

vBulletin has a TON of very cool mods for it available. Take a look at www.devmaster.net for an idea of the various things that can be done with ease. If you need anything custom coded for the site, lemme know, I'm already working on a vBulletin-based site so I know the codebase rather well now.
