Its a really good idea to change your fluids if you know they have never been changed before...especially with the stock differentials in our MTX trannys...
When you drain the fluid, check it for metal shavings in the bottom of the container you use to catch the fluid...if there are pieces in there, then you may have a soon-to-be-failing Diff...due to the spider gears wearing away.
Change the fluid with Royal Purple Syncromax ( 2.5 quarts )

where do you change it from. man this has me worried now. little over 86,000 miles
No freaking out...
There's a how-to on CEG (http://www.contour.org)... Look under their "How-to" section under Mods/Parts.
There are two plugs (one to let the fluid out, one to fill) that you remove. It takes Mobil 1 ATF, Redline ATF, or similar. It is extremely easy, and requires you to remove nothing except the two plugs in question once the car is up on jackstands or ramps.

and pump in the fluid ($6). I was a little worried about it too, but if you can change your own oil it is about the same (maybe even easier), except you have to pump in the fluid. The how to is great.
Pump? I just used a funnel with a section of hose attached, fed it from the top of the engine, down into the fill plug hole.

on some cars you have to do it with a pump due to location of the plugs. Especially RWD vehicles like s-10's unless you run a piece of hose from the engine bay thats a good 6 foot long.

I bought the cheapest pump at advanced auto (black) and poured my tranny fluid in a cut in half gallon water jug. it was pretty easy because the one end of the pump fit the fill hole perfectly. If you have about four feet of the right size hose, a funnel and a friend, it would probably be easier, but I was just going by the how to. I would just say take a look and see if you have the stuff and make your own choice.
