Yep im at it again. Im organizing another meet on the Tiburon site I go on and am opening it up to all enthusiast's. Here's all the details. I hope some of you guys will make. I think we are gonna have a blast.

Location: Concord Mills Charlotte will then caravan to Rockingham for Midnite Street Drags (Open Track Night)

When: Sat. Sept 30th Concord Mills Time to Meet up Noon will depart from Concord Mills for Rockingham 5 p.m. Track opens up at 7pm and lasts till midnight. (This date was chosen based on a variety of factors and the fact that after this date the next open track night scheduled at Rockingham on a Sat. is Nov. 25th)

$20 for unlimited passes, $10 watch.

I will also see if we get enough people to run at the track if rockingham will give us like a group discount or something.

So who all is interested post up. Include what part of the meet u will be attending, where u are coming from, and how many guests u will be bringing, and what kind of car u will be bringing.

Wow. That sounds like a good time.

My car should be a bit more modified by then, and I should be on a more regular work schedule.

do u know of this Tib GT ???
he lives here in Fayetteville,... he was at a few shows. Do u know if he is part of any Tiburon boards??...
I wish to do battle with him as well... this should be in intresting meet...

Oh yeah i know him. He's on the tib site i go on and importsnc. He's a member of Outkastedcreationz. I met him when he was showing at NOPI in Rockingham we won for his class to.

As far as his performance mods i think he has Injen Intake,Borla Exhaust, Hotshot Headers,B&M Short Shifter, and SAFC 2. He mostly in to show not go. He'll prob still run ya though if ya challenge him.

Hey if you guys are gonna be attending be sure to put your name on the list like Nightrider. What are your performance mods to btw Andyman?

My tib is mostly stock performance wise. Anybody here with a stockish V6 Cougar interested in attending? I wanna see how the cars stack up against each other since they are so similar in regards to engine displacement and weight.

only reason i want to race him because our cars look so much alike... same hood and color and size rims.. lol... i am sure he see's me driving around asking if i copied him or visaversa... lol
my mods are just bolt ons.. no internals if thats what ur asking..
svt uim, TB, CAI, headers, catback, spec-1 clutch and fidanza flywheel..
no biggie.. so we should be in the same class then... awsome :thumbsup:

o_O u wont kiddin. you'll prob take him his is loaded down with to much audio equipment. his is just a GT version so he doesnt have the 6 speed tranny just the 5 speed. so it should really be a drivers race. most everybody will be modded just the same basic boltons as far performance goes.

there will be two tibs there to um watch out for though. they have both gone F/I one with a turbo i think pushin out around 240whp at 4psi but by the time meet come he'll prob have his new clutch in so he'll turn up the boost to around 8psi. The other is runnin an mp90 roots style supercharger and a built motor to i think he's puttin out around 400whp and i think he's gonna but it on the bottle to so it'll prob be a lil higher than that.

Here's a few pics I have of the turbo tib and this vid of the supercharger that one tib is runnin when they were still prototyping it and testing it on the dyno.

That pull made 250whp and 240ft.lbs runnin a 3.3" pulley @ 8psi on a bone stock engine with an automatic tranny.

nope the GT's come with either a 4 speed auto w/ shiftronic or a 5 speed manual. The 6 speed comes on the SE model. Quick way to tell the difference GT model's have a low spoiler it allmost touches the trunk lid the SE model comes with a spoiler that is lil bit taller. they are rated 170HP and 181 TQ by Hyundai but thats bs. real world actual horsepower for the manual trans tib's are prob around 145whp and the auto's around 140whp. so the auto in the tib is not as much of a power killer as it is in the cougar. all the trans can take a fair amount of abuse to they can handle stock up to 300whp before things to start to break and wear out. weak point in the trans are the clutches they suck.

Bumping this 20 people so far have are going to be attending this meet so far from the various forums and only two members from here have expressed interest in attending well 3 if somebody in who is also an owner of tiburon gets his arse n gear and find a way up here *cough buffdaddy cough*.

So only 3 people interested in attending and only one of them actually has a cougar. come on people it doesnt get to much better than this. Having a meet at concord mills and then heading out to the track afterwards.

If i am going to go make some runs, I am going to want to go on a day where the staging lanes wont be packed full of cars and I am forced to wait for 10-20 mins between runs, only to botch a launch, get a ****ty time and have to wait before i can run again. It just looses the groove.

So, so-long as the track isnt packed I'll probably make some runs.

Drag racing isnt why I built my car> It might be quick, but I built it to peform great on a road course where all aspects of the car really come to life.

You ever run the Tail of the Dragon? A road like that lol. We should have a meet there sometime.

No ive never been on the dragon. We were going to have an East Coast Tiburon meet and run the dragon because our official meet is out In Vegas every year so we wanted something in this half of the country but it fizzled out. I dont think it'll be that many people there. Cause when they had open track after NOPI a few weeks ago even with some of the bracket racers making practice runs to i dont think anybody waited more than 8-10min between passes.

Well, I've put down the mod stick permanently. This frees up a little bit of money for gas. I might be able to make it, possibly with some other guys from base.

The only problem for me that I can see is my $500 deposit on my next car interefering with finances, but that shouldnt be too much of a problem.

I was gonna say they close down the track at midnight. how you know u gotta work? They tell ya your work schedule that far in advance? I wish they did that where i work we are lucky to get our schedule a week in advance. The track closes at midnight but depending on your hours you could still meet up and see all the cars before hand we will be hanging out at concord mills from noon to 5pm before we cruise out to the track so stop by and chill for a lil while before ya have to go to work.

bumping 31 people signed up so far and still got 2 months to go. also possibly a lil show might be organized with trophys given out if there is enough interest. more info pending soon.

haha no i though that the meet was this month..... but yeah ill be able to make it dont think ill make any runs though my tranny and clutch have got over 125K on em but the engine has about 6 :P heheheh long story

bwhahahaha nope mang we still got almost 2 months to go yet. Had to do it way out in advance otherwise there is bumpkiss turnout. everybody is so spread out over NC that it takes planning to get everyone organized.

well i pm'd him a message a while back and even though he's gonna be there he's not gonna run his car on the track. so sorry bud. i know another black tib though that'll will run ya though he has very similar mods performance wise as u do. hell i'll run ya if ya want.

I so want to come over for this but after 30 days of not working I have to go back in on the 29th. I finally have the TC all dyno'd out since i haven't worked for the last 30 days I had plenty of time to go get everything right on it. But I haven't had a chance to take it to a track yet and I want to do that bad. Came out after everything was tuned right that I now have a 218whp Scion not too shabby. considering all I have left to do now is bigger brakes, add the lip kit, and Get the damn thing repainted thanks to Toyota's ****ty paint job they did on it. Sorry I'm missing this meet too, really want to meet some of you and see your cars.

place to meet up will be up near the bass pro shops theres some restaurants there and the parking lot behind em is where we will be. the parking lot well will be in is right behind a restaurant called "on the border".

are u talking about the entrance to the track? there should only be one gate open leading into the facility for cars to drive through to get in. its a big gate u cant miss it. all the rest they keep locked. it'll be on the opposite side of the track from where they have gates for people to enter.
