Anyone break down this year? Or did everyone make it home alright?

Well, I broke down on the way, but you knew that. :)

i found out my crazy creaking noise was my wheel bearing causing my brake pads to wear unevenly thus making a strange noise.

I still need to fix that stupid wheel bearing.

Nadthomas blew a fuel pump fuse on the return trip, the car died like a dog at 80 mph and wouldn't start back up. Luckily we had enough minds in the caravan that SOMEBODY (Linkman) suggested checking the fuses.

almost lost my bumper on the way down... bolts holding the left side to the fender snapped.
Luckly I had a support brace underneath that kept it from REALLY falling on the ground, but I had to zip tie it till I reached Windsor... where after a quick trip to Canadian Tire with Ron, and a visit to Puckpucks house of Slam! All is fixed, and I'm even 1.5inches lower in the front now (since no one goes to Pucks without being lowered ;) )

I had a tire go on the way there, but that was fixed up quickly. :)

Didn't BBox breakdown on the way there? or was that while he was there? plus he got rear ended!

I had a similar problem last year. The wheel bearing was so bad the rotor was rubbing on the caliper bracket.

I was accused of possessing a spun bearing, but it turned out to be just a loose spark plug.

I'm going to continue to use that as my conclusion to all your problems

because one day I will be right

Thats hateful Terry. :(

I wouldn't get my hopes up for that being the eventual solution to one of my problems though. I want to put an accusump on the oval port, even though I highly doubt it will need it. ;)

Mark had an overheating problem on the way back. I had oil blowing out of the rear valve cover gasket the whole time during fest. Just a slow drip takes about a half quart every two weeks.

I'm so glad no one had to deal with what Byrdman dealt with last year. Multiple tire failures, then having the car broken into and his entire system stolen while in SoCal on the way back. I'd never wish something like that on my own worst enemy....

all I have to say about CELs is...GET an Xcal2 and have those stupid ass useless emissions related crap turned off (anything which isnt vital to the car running properly). Especially the lower 02 sensors. MIL eliminators or not.

I havnt had a CEL in over a year. Its like a freaking mircale or something.

yes car was overheating (t-stat stuck closed) and on the way home (about 20 miles from my house) the back side of the motor jumped timing.
