On my way back from my friend's place tonight, I was cruising leisurely up the freeway at 70mph, enjoying the music and the 35 minute drive home. It's late at night, so there aren't many cars on the road.
Of course, at night, that's when the foolish come out to play.
First victim was a Scooby. I could hear the lovely purr of a flat four burbling through an aftermarket exhaust, which he politely revved at me a few times. Okay, I guess I'm game. Freeway ahead is completely empty and straight. So, I drop it into high 3rd and floor it, quickly dumping into 4th. The Scooby.. she's already laggin' behind me badly. By the time the speedo kisses 130, she's toast.
I guess the Eclipse GST that pulled onto the freeway saw the action and wanted to play. By then, I had slowed back down to 70, and set the cruise control again. Then, this little ricequeen in a bright yellow Eclipse GST (He was nice enough to pull forward so I could see the label) and his fat aluminum wing decides to rev at me. Oh, okay, fine.
Again, drop it into third, floor it, row through until I'm hitting about 120 pretty quickly.. and the GST, he gave up about 10mph ago.
Silly ricers, the SVTour may look like a grocery getter (especially since it's debadged), but really, the 3L/SVT hybrid gets groceries faster than your lame asses.
:rofl::gtfo:
