I recentally purchases a CC short throw shifter though a member on the boards (used) and i was wondering how would you go about installing it. I took off my shift boot and it looked complicated, than again, i can barley change my own oil with out messing something up! I did a search and i turned up nothing... Any imput or better yet, PICS would be great! Thank you!

I'd offer to help but.... you probably don't want my advice (http://www.newcougar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=98155) ;)

here's a pdf Claymore gave me yesterday (http://www.bmracing.com/media/products/pdf/47.pdf)

just a warning my CC short shift just busted... after less than a year I think. and getting the cables off the bottom is not easy if you have big hands.

Does it include a step ensuring the shifter is in nuetral before attempting to move it? :cover:

Why does everybody have so much trouble doing these things? I found it to be a quick change over with the help of a large flathead screwdirver and the car in third to pop off the lower cable. undo the top screws and just pull it apart. fairly straightforward.

Step 1: Toss the CC one in the trash ;)

I just did mine last weekend, I can try to write something up, but I don't have any type of pix. It really wasn't too terribly difficult, really. My only problem was the pin for the reverse lockout wouldn't fit, but IIRC the CC STS doesn't let you keep the reverse lockout anyway.

Well, i just got my CC short throw installed and all i can say is 1 hour my A$$! Hahah, it is harder than heck when you have large hands! It took me almost two hours, but i am still new to this game but at least i got it done! I didnt give up and sell the damn thing! But being its a CC, i will probably sell it soon enough!

Yea it shouldnt have taken me that long, but i took out my center council because the instructions for the B&M said to, and i have yet to take that thing out so i did it. Honestly, there is no need to, but i did it anyway.

I didnt take mine out (event though claymore thought I was crazy) and it worked ok. But it was pretty rough on the backs of my hands from hitting the console trying to reach the lower cable :(

I looked on the B&M website and I didn't see a short throw for the Cougar, could you point me in the right direction? thanks.
