What size amp?

I am about to start puting an audio system in my car and I dont know what size amp I should use. Right now I have A single 12" Volfenhag zx-4712 1000w sub. The good thing Is I know someone who may be able to get me adio equiptment for something like half off but im not sure what amp or headunit so feel free to give an opinion.
