The CVX is a round version of the Solobaric L7.
You mean they started with great round solobarics..... then went to square subs .... and now have gone back to round....... I never liked the square one anyway.
Oh and if anyone is interested reading this, I have 4 round solo 12"s that can be bought. They are the ones with low-medium play time.

I have an 05 12" L5 and it's very clean with my Kicker amp. Maybe your amp was nasty :)
Btw the "c" in cvx stands for Comp, they're the high end of the comp line - not an extension of the solo-baric line. They sure handle a ****-ton of power though!

Thats what Ithought..Thanks for clearing that up.
I've had 2 L7 12's and traded down to an L5 15". I've ran kicker for about 12 years now with changing out subs 4 times trying different sizes..I've had the older comps(Gold Writing) up to last years L7's..I've NEVER had a problem with any of them. They've handled numerous amounts of power and keep going. Great speaker IMO.

Yes my amplifier was indeed Nasty
The CVX has the same motor assembly as the Solobaric square subs, the difference is the CVX has a round cone instead of square.

I'll take your word on it, but the solo-baric (in theory) should still be louder with the same power handling since it has more surface area (which means it moves more air).
