Ohio's Post CF 2K6 Thread

I went ahead and deleted the CF thread and figured Id love to hear about Ohios personal experiences, since I missed everything :(
I will say I had an awesome time in NY just a little quicky of a trip tho, rolled in at 2am sat. morning and left by 930am monday.
Anyways, i would love to hear who all won awards, who all partied hard for me, and who truly held it down, if you all know what I mean.
If details are too much to post, please PM me with them.

I hope to see everyone soon, and I plan on attending another show this weekend with Pops but I think it ll just be our Mustang and 55 instead of the cougar.

Hope everyone is recovered!! God know's I wouldnt be.

Well, I'll recap a little bit, then.

Thursday:
JAMallott calls me at about 10am saying he's bringing his car over because its not running AT ALL. 10 minutes later he calls and says he can't get it out of the street it's so bad, and asks if I can come up and have a look. So I do. He and Greg had just installed an SVT upper, and now its misfiring and won't idle. We check every vacuum line and every electrical connection, as well as replace the plug wires, and cannot figure out the problem. I had to leave to pack, so the plan was for Aaron to leave his car home and ride with Greg.

At 3:00, I'm driving to the meet point, and I get a call from Wadespencer99, who stopped by Aaron's house on his way into town. They had yanked the SVT upper OFF, and found that one of the gaskets was on sideways, and there was a vacuum leak large enough to throw a cat through. Problem solved.

We meet at Wal-Mart: me, Soldier989 and his dad, BlackCatOH and Jen, Brian in his truck, and CougarPimp916. We wait around for Wade, Aaron, and Greg to show up, and call Mark in the meantime, who also makes it over. So we roll out with a caravan of 8 cars/trucks (unless I'm forgetting someone). Caravan was uneventful, and we hit Indy at 7pm on the dot.

FRIDAY
Nothing much going on Friday, what with no track day. So we hung out in the parking lot most of the day. Nadthomas rolled in early with his new big brake kit, which is awesome. Much of the group went to FasTimes, an indoor go-kart track, that evening. A great caravan there and back as well, with Ov3n and EricF in their Mustangs, doing big smokey power-brake burnouts on the freeway in construction traffic jams.

SATURDAY
Show day. Long, hot afternoon. Banquet lunch and raffles. Ohio won a bunch of free stuff. We installed plugs and an intake on Brett's car, and a rear STB on Evan's car. Group photo was taken. Awards ceremony, with much love for RacerX and LinkMan. Evan was robbed for "Best Stock" category. Soldier989 and dad rolled out for Columbus at about 7. Much of the group went to a local drive-in, en masse, to see Pirates of the Carribean 2. Much fun was had, as shown by the photos. Everyone stayed up SUPER-LATE in the parking lot and drank and talked and shot off fireworks.

SUNDAY
Roll out with me, Nad, Greg, Aaron, Mark, Wade, Evan & Jen, Matt, and Brian. Dan broke down just outside of Columbus. Mark diagnosed and fixed it, when the rest of us grease monkeys were totally stumped.

Awesome Cougarfest, and lots of CF virgins this year, too, which is good to see. Everybody, feel free to add.

Stories, oh there are some good ones.
So Saturday night, a group of about 10 Cougars rolled to the drive in (I was the only Ohio member until a few hours later). We got there at about 8, and the movie started at 10. They had some oldies and some dance songs playing (The Chicken Dance, The Macarina (sp?), The Hokey Pokey, etc.), so we all started to dance. Of course Hugnsmile1 was with us, so she initiated it all lol. First of all they announced on the loud speaker after about 2 songs, "Go check out the Cougar group for some pre-movie intertainment!" or something to that extent. Then, two teenagers that were employees there came riding up on a golf cart, trying to tell us to park somewhere else, because I guess we were in the spots marked for vans. But with our smooth talkin' got to stay. Not only that, but we tricked them out with some CougarFest shirts, a NECO decal on the front of the golf cart, and some tireshine! They were laughin' and havin' a good time with it all. And they stopped back later that night to take some pics!
Then, this lady and her boyfriendor husband came up to see what was going on, and of course Heather (HugnSmile1) jumped at the oppertunity to make some new friends. We told them about NECO, and Fest and all, and they decided they wanted to buy shirts! They baught 5! 2 for themselves, and 3 for their kids! Then we went over to check out his car (brand new '06 Roush Mustang Convertible, but it was automatic :( ) and talk to him about it and all. That family decided to follow us back to the hotel parking lot to hang out and check out the other Cougars. Of course he had to do a big burnout in the parking lot though...

Saturday we went to FastTracks: an indoor go-carting place with a 2-story track. It was TONS of fun, even with the extremely hot flame suit lol. But Ryan (BigBalledOX) was a little too long for the carts. He had trouble controlling the pedals since he could barly lift his feet off of them. So about 1/4 of the way through his first lap, he goes to go around the hairpin turn and SLAMS right into the wall. From the observation deck all we are able to see is his leg hanging out of the car and the wheel completely seperated from the car. So the tech guys run over, get him out of the car, and help him hobble upstairs. He busted up his ankle pretty badly, but nothing broken as far as I know.

I'll let someone else tell the story of Excelcier and the African Queen (since I was at the movie when that happened lol)

Attendance was down; I think the combination of holiday weekend and no drag strip or autocross was hurting attendance.

It was a truly very friendly, drama-free and low-key Cougarfest. Very refreshing and fun.

As for CF sounds like Ohio NECO was represented very well, and I much appreciate everyones participation, just wish I wouldve been there.

Hells yeah it was a good time :) Everyone forgot the story about the fireworks bein' launched off the roof of the hotel...ummm...both jaged and E1 breakin' toes during tape-ball soccer...the Saturn lady...and I might as well tall the story about excelcier and the african momma...here goes:

So me, Moraki, Sonza, BBOX, Greg and a few others are sitting in the parking lot waiting for everyone else to return from the moving. Generally having a good time with pyrotechnics and beer, I notice that more and more africans (and yes I do mean Africans) begin showing up. The men were in there robes and slippers, and the women were wearing tissue-paper beehives on their heads. Now picture the back two rows of the lot being roped off. A black Endeavor drives THROUGH the rope and parks right next to Ron's (excelcier) ride. Once the vehicle comes to a stop, four women pour out and the driver is talking on her cell. The cell drops her purse and begins rummaging ON RON'S CAR. This gets everyones attention, including Ryans. Then, the front seat passenger walks over and plops her crap on his car...at this point its too much for the BigBalledOx and he sez, "NO!....please do NOT put stuff on that car." At this point the women began to mock Ryan and continued doin' what they damned well pleased....and that's about how far I am going to protect the innocent :evil:

i raced Ov3ns Blue GT 5-speed with exhaust and pulled away the 1st race, 2nd we were neck and neck, and im untuned and only 8 psi or so of boost hehe


there was a Silver GS-T or GSX (spyder) that came up along side of us on the way to indy giving us the eye sooo i tried to toy with him and he didnt take the bate grrr lol i wanted to run that car but i think my big a$$ FMIC and loud BOV scurrred him, im quite impressed with my 4-banger now that its built and kicking arse hehe
