I have this post sort of in CEG but I wanted to post here so someone could use the pictures or information to help them with any questions. Also I want to give something back to this forum for all the information and help it has brought me to tackle this job.

I started my 3.0L swap a couple days ago. The Ford CD makes the swap a lot easier then anything else.

Everything so far has gone well. I ran into a couple problems including that bolt breaking. I need buy a couple more gaskets that I didn’t think I would need like the crank seal on the timing cover, also the crank bolt that I didn’t know was a TTY

Day 3

I am confused on this sensor from the 3L Block compared to the 2.5L Block. I tired to swap over the 2.5 Sensor and it doesn’t fit on the 3L Block. I understand there is going to be splicing to get the sensor correct, but should I use the 3.0 sensor or the 2.5 sensor? Also are those pictures both the right knock sensor? If anyone has a picture of theirs it would be very helpful.

Lol I've done that... it sucks.

I am confused on this sensor from the 3L Block compared to the 2.5L Block. I tired to swap over the 2.5 Sensor and it doesn’t fit on the 3L Block. As is listed in the FAQ's you need to tap that hole the 3L sensor is in for the knock sensor on your 2.5L because currently it is too small. I actually heard one of the 3L's I built for a Cougar came with the sensor shown on that 3L which seemed odd. It must be the newest revision of the knock sensors.

Looks good. I labled the crap out of everything when pulled my engine as well. It saved mucho frustration.
