My Dad and I were tooling with my car today, we installed the new DMD and gatorback belts.

We were going to move onto the plugs, but could get some of the lines apart on the top of the UIM. We didnt want to mess around with it too much incase we broke it, we would of been SOL because of the 4th.

Does anyone think they can give me a hand while at the fest? It would be greatly appreciated. I also think Im still going to buy the CAI from Khan, anyone feeling daring enoug for that too? You would teach my Father and I a lesson in Cougar 101 if you did.

The only thing you need to remove is the plastic engine shroud and the IMRC. There's no need to touch any of those lines.

I have the Extrude Honed UIM and short ram intake off my car. I can help you install them including the plugs after Fest. Its easier with the UIM off.

You can very easily take the rear plugs out w/out removing the UIM.

With an extension, a pivoting head and a strong back you can get to them. Just seat the socket on the plug with the joint attached and connect to that w/the extension.

When you install the new ones make sure you hand seat them first and then use the socket wrench to tighten them. That way you know they're threaded properly. I think we had one member strip the threads on the block and when he tried to back the plug out it snapped off inside the block. Sucked.

But you won't have that problem.

Hmm alright. I will have my Dad bring a rachet set.

You have the extruded UIM eh? You except payments hehe? Actually you gave me a good price for the both of them, I think id rather take them then the CAI. I could use the short ram for a while I guess. Will it be coming with the filter on it aswell?

I also have my SVT LIM hangin around in my garage. Im kinda not prepared to install it, seems like it might be a huge hassle. Anyone done one before? If so, maybe you could show me the light at fest ;)

NOTE: You will need to get a set of gaskets for the upper AND lower manifolds if you are planning on doing that. Also a gasket for the EGR valve and for the throttle body.

Yeah, Dan and I talked about that, I dont think its possible to get these gaskets in time. Future arrangements for installation will be set.

Kinda sucks though!

I could of done everything for you at fest if you had the gaskets. I will have all my usual tools with me and then some. I've got a better chance of my truck not breaking down this year. But i'm still going to be prepared to fix somebody else if it's needed.
