6 disk cd changer

I was thinking about putting in a cd player that I took out of my last car into my cougar, I was just wondering if there is a way you can save the 6 disk changer also and still use it with a custom cd player...and if not is there a changer you can buy that would be the same size and go where the 6 disk changer goes?

No, the stock changer only works with the stock radio.

The Kenwood 10 disc unit fits in there pretty well - that's what I did with mine. You'll need to cut holes in the stock mounting bracket for the cable and the new bolt locations, then you'll need to use some washers as spacers (the Kenwood unit is slightly smaller than the stock unit in some dimensions). I also had to trim a bit of the carpet in front of the door, but no one will ever notice the difference. (The Kenwood 6 disc unit will also fit...but for $20 more, get the 10 disc unit!)

IIRC the Pioneer units do NOT fit in that spot (which is why I went Kenwood). I don't have the measurements I took any more, but you have enough height for a 10-disc changer. The problem with the Pioneer unit was either the depth or the width.

I didn't check any other brands. There are probably several others that will fit.

(electriacal nub) I want to put a 10 disc cd changer in the armrest compartment..... is it even possible? and if it is what will i need to do it and wat cd changer should i ggo with..

That's going to be a tight fit - you'll have to measure, then go to Crutchfield and other sites to see what will fit there.

I doubt any changers will fit there - it's barely big enough to hold the magazine for my 10-disc changer...

I seen a cougar at fest with the changer above his glove box. It was sweet azz sweet. You wouldn't even know it was there if he didn't show you.

well u wont know i have one unless u open the armrest... maybe ill stuff some nice l.e.d's in there too
