I'm a little strapped for cash and was wondering if there would be any possibility to pitch a tent. I know there will be late night antics but am prepared to handle that.

Call the hotel and see what they say, if they don't like it I'm sure there are some campgrounds near there (maybe a few miles away).
If you can pull off not sleeping all weekend you'll be OK no matter what :)
Alternatively you can find people to split a room with.

I'm staying at the Lake Haven Retreat campground in Indy. Not sure if they have tent sites or not, though.
