Guys getting a lot of conflicting advise on how to do this and whats needed.

My original idea was to strip a home pc down and buy a dc-dc psu to power it.

Has someone got a full list of what is required and where to buy from(reputable!!!).

The reason I want it is to store mp3's and videos and to control it all from a 8" vga touch screen in the front running roadrunner software.

Cheers

Oh it would help if the stores will ship to the uk as like here!!

My only advice, Pad the S#)+ out of your hard drive, they weren't made to take the shocks of the road. Also a good clean regulated 12v supply is a MUST.

I'm a long time member there and they are great guys but some of the stuff at their store can be found a bit cheaper.

I have a notebook drive in my case with no extra shock protection and I have had no problems even with my system. However I did built one for a friend with a fullsize 3.5" HD and his system did cause the HD to crash. It all depends on where and how you mount the HD.

Jason J, if you have any specific questions that you need help with let me know. Otherwise do some looking around on mp3car.com
