I was just looking at the address bar and thought it would be pretty cool if we could get a little cougar head logo instead of the boring tabbed page. Like Google has the G in a square, and Yahoo! has their Y...
Just a thought.

i already suggested this... if you search for "favicon"... no one ever moved on it... maybe after the migration trevor will hear requests again
but IMHO its gunna be hard to make a cougar head look good @ 16x16... i know, i've tried

I don't think these look too bad, and favicon DOES support 32x32 if the 16x16 doesn't work out.

Those look awesome. Anyone of those would work out perfect.

Save the forum in your favorites OR open the site in Mozilla ... IE only displays in favorites listing ... mozilla displays in both.
Just checked ... if it's in your IE favorites and you link to it by clicking the favorite, it will display in the address bar as well.

try clearing out your cach, cookies, history (all those good things).
when I just opened the forum it wasn't showing, so cleared everything out, and there they are! woohoo!!
my suggestion though would be to make the background transparent so it doesn't have the white square background.

All you have to do is just re-favorite it. I know its not a word but you get the point. Nice icon.

I tried to transparent the background, but for whatever reason I couldn't get it to make a difference...almost as though favicon didn't support it? I can give it another go if people really care. Glad I could actually contribute something to the board for a change. Too bad it couldn't be "knowledge". :)

.ico files don't suppport an alpha layer from my understanding ... the one created was done with a transparent background ;)

ICO are Windows Icon Files and are used mainly in application icon assignment, although they are used also in development environments.
In order to obtain the best quality we recommend using 32-Bit .ICO files with Alpha Channel, which allow full transparencies and shades.
For Environments prior to Windows XP we recommend using 8-Bit ICO files with 256 Colours, with the following masking color:
Gray: &H00C0C0C0&
Web: #C0C0C0
