View Full Version : Exhaust Question

I have WR headers, WR y-pipe, trubendz test pipe, and trubendz catback dual exhaust. Do I need a flex pipe (between test pipe and y pipe) or does the test pipe fit between the cat back exhaust and the y-pipe? Both the y-pipe and test pipe are 3bolt flange.

I need to know if I need to order a flex pipe. I was thinking I could cut the test pipe and weld a flex pipe onto it if I need the extra length. Does anyone know what size I would need?

i have the same exhaust setup as you but when i put it together it retained the flex pipe. but my 02 cougar already had the flex piece on it. i would assume you would need one too,to allow some movement, i read a post not too long ago where DanG commented on the flex-pipe being a must unless you had the old type flange with those donut/spring-bolt things. and since most of us trust DanG more than a well sanitized hookah, my money is on his answer...lol

*edit to include the post i was talking about*
