I was wondering where is the best place to tap into key switched (with current at the accessory and run position) 12V to connect a self-dimming mirror.
BTW, does anybody know how to remove the mirror in our cars?
Thanks!

You can tap it from behind the radio. The radio has a constant power and a switched one. I used it for my autometer gauges on my a-pillar.
Just search for switched 12 volt and you should find the wire color.

If its any help i believe its yellow.
I just put a deck in a car and the constant wire was yellow, not sure if its the same on the cougar.

Keep in mind, the switched ignition controlled line is not designed to supply much current. You'll want to tap that line into a 4.7K ohm resistor then into the base of a 2N3904 or 2N4401 NPN transistor to power something off that line.

Thanks guys!
Looks like I won't be installling it this week though because the guy who's supposed to change my windshield is on vacation and I want to do both things at the same time.
Thanks again!
