Now that I've gone ahead and gutted my precats I feel comfortable enough todo it for other people (it's actually really easy, just time consuming)...

That being said... if your looking to get some more ponies from your car without buying headers I'll gut your cats for a reasonable price...

Your car was fast before, so where do you see the most gains - in high or low rpms?

mostly in the top end... the gears just wanna go forever(except first gear, that has always sucked for me.... crappy lousy first gear)... it took me 8 hours b/c i snapped a toasted nut and had to grind a flange down to fit another nut on again...

but now that I've done it I could DEF saunter through another MUCH faster since I know all the nouances (SP?) and tricks

Yeah... with the right tools, and right luck, you can do it in probably 2-3 hours. Took me 6 the first time.
