Tail-light idea...

While its my daily driver, I don't have the guts to do it because of cops... but I thought it looked kinda nifty...

Using paint or heavy niteshading - and probably would only look good on a black car... but anyway:
Would probably wicked at night too...

This would be the only time I would have to agree with Commando, but definitely have a spare set. I just got done nite shading a spare set I had, and they're pretty damn dark. I'm glad I have a stock set just in case I get pulled over and what not with the nite shaded ones.

haha, no need for a group buy - just a few can't of niteshades from Summitracing.com - or a can of spraypaint :)

The hardest part, would be making a perfect circle... BUT i believe that could be done by taking a piece of construction-paper (yes, the stuff you used in kindergarden ;) ) and a piece into a square... then, on one side, cut straight into the middle - stopping at the center.
put down the sissors, and now fold the piece of paper into a cone... 'adjust' the size to fit the taillight, then get some tape and put it on the seam so it doesn't come apart.
Place the cone on the taillight and trace around the outside... then tape it off, and paint.

or

Get a hollow tube the size you need, and just place it over top of the taillight... and spray directly into the hollow tube. heh.

I think you'd be fine man. Maybe make the circles smaller or getting some brighter tail lights to help shine through. I mean, look at all these stupid ricer tail lights. They're not any better. :shrug: Looks cool.

That photoshop looks very "Cobalt SS-esque" to me. And thats not a bad thing, looks bad as hell. Hell, imagine if you could make some sort of "solid tube" to illuminate the outer ring to make it bright as hell. I'm sure if you made it bright enough you shouldn't have any problems with law enforcement.

just a thought. that would only look good at night if it was painted black not niteshaded... if its painted only that unpainted part would show instead of a bright to faded look
