Now, does anyone know exactly where this wire goes once it leaves that connector at the alt? A diagram or a picture would be infinitely helpful... "Fuse box" isnt helpful at all...

If you have a Ford CD which i would think you do seeing from your sig there.... I'm pretty sure theres wire diagrams on it. :)

OK... i think i have this right
Heres the alt:

I am led to believe that the viltage sensing wire is C2104c shown here:

But from there, how do I tell where that wire actually terminates or goes to ???

What are you trying to do?

figure out where the voltage sensing wire actually goes once it leaves the alternator

That wire is going from connector C2104c to C2104b. It's circuit 59-BA6. It would help to see what's inside the box labeled Generator, but my Ford CD is at home... from what I see in your screen capture, that wire looks like a jumper.

::sighs:: i know that... i know it follows that red-lined path.... but as for where it terminates i don't know

At the fuse box or distribution block as you said before.

based on that digram i cannot be convinced of that

Um, why not?
C2104c jumped over to C2104b pin 2. Through the internal IC. Out of C2104b pin 1 (15S-BA9) through two connectors that I can't read the Cxxx numbers for in that .gif, to the A30 Instrument cluster C808b (?) pin 4. Through the instrument cluster battery light ckt to the Central Junction Box C362 pin 2 and fuse F?. Central junction box is under the dash.
Another power distribution diagram will tell what feeds that fuse.
The "important" part of that ckt is in the generator box, the IC ckt. The rest of it just turns on the battery light on the dash.

so the voltage sensing wire runs to the cabin fuse box or the engine fuse box... Pretty much I want to be able to trace the wire in the car from the ALT to its termination point

Well, that diagram goes to both. That's why I'd like to see "inside" the generator box. The red arrowed path you have highlighted is going to the Central Junction Box, that's inside the cabin. But the wire going out C2104b pin 3 is going to the underhood Battery Junction Box.
I'm guessing that the CJB wire is for the battery warning light on the instrument cluster, and that depending on what is feeding the BJB fuse (again, I can't read the fuse number in the .gif), that's probably the power source for the IC in the generator box.

You and me both! Not that I need another distraction at work...

im surprised that NO ONE can tell me this... esp say excelcier the god of electrons or anyone else whose pulled the engine or something... someone MUST know

Sorry man, I may be quite knowedglable, however, I haven't memorized every wire in the car off hand. I can only speak to sections I'm familiar with. I've never actually dove into that section before past the alternator itself as I haven't needed to.

wellit was worth a shot.. guess ill just have to spend some time and trace it myself
