I was headed home this past Wednesday from seeing X-Men 3 and stop off at Loves gas station to get some gas. Get outta my car and walk around, when Sally (yeah we're still together) opens her door and says "Jason, there's smoke coming from under your hood". So I go check it out and wow.....there's a fire in the back of my engine. So she goes running inside saying how her boyfriends car is on fire (to which the morons inside say "where is it?" and "Ok I'll go get my manager"....I was beside a ****ING gas pump....with FLAMES).

I put the fire out with some water from a water bottle in my car before Sally and the manager even get out there, and 2 guys help me push it over to a parking space where it sits til the next day. Then the tow truck (really getting tired of seeing my car up on a rollback) takes her to the local Ford Dealership nearby.

After looking things over here is the synopsis of why my engine caught on fire.

Apparently there are some electrical wires from the battery that lead to the back valve covers...or something like that. Well those wires run extremely close to the fuel lines (metal). Somehow one of those battery wires began to tap against a metal fuel line, arcing on it, and burning a hole in said fuel line, therefore allowing gas to seep out on the arcing wire....and that ladies and gentlemen is how a fire starts.....gas+oxygen+sparking wire = FIRE!!!

Anyway, it's under full warranty still so it's all getting fixed, and in the meantime I get to drive around a brand new 2006 Ford Fusion....automatic. Which is fun in a way cause I keep trying to push the clutch and accidentally hitting the brakes. Making the people behind me freak out hehe.

So how's everyone else doing?
