i was just wondering if a throttle body from a taurus engine would fit on the 99 2.5 L cougar engine, and if so would anything performance come out of it?

There were lots of different kinds of Taurus engines, man.
V8 SHO, V6 Yamaha, V6 Vulcan, V6 Duratec with aluminum manifold, V6 Duratec with plastic manifold...
You better get specific.
But really, the Duratec ones bolt up, but the cables don't come anywhere close, so you would have to make a custom bracket entirely.

I don't think it was as easy as that. I thought you had to cut the 65mm tb linkage and the SVT linkage up an weld them together to get it to work correctly. Let me know if that isnt true because I'd eventually like to pick one up.

I put mine on last night. The SVT TB shaft is long enough...but barely!!! I think i am going to find a way to make it a little bit longer. We'll see what i come up with, and i'll be sure to get some pics.
Lowe's/Home Depot...here i come

Hey man just let me know...but i am changing mine today when i get home. I had the TB on the car and working correctly but after reading that thread about the seals not lining up right and stuff i am going to change it. I alreayd took the shaft off of the 65mm linkage and i took the linkage from the SVT one...now when i get home i just have to go to a friends house and weld them together. This was i will never have a problem with the seals not working correctly...and with the shaft not reaching the TPS correctly ya know.
It is actually easier than i thought. I just took a dremel to the linkage/shaft to separate them. I also optimized the 65mm TB last night and polished it all up...man it looks nice. Now i need to knife-edge the thorttle plate...get that thing linkage/shaft welded together, and i should be golden! ;)
So Joey...let me know when you get the Xcal...and the TB...and i'll go put it all on...while Adam is putting in that B&M shifter. And then we'll go out and rip on your car a little bit
EDIT...maybe i'll try and get a digicam so i can make a pictorial on the 65mm TB how-to lol
