Is dynamat actually worth the money and extra weight to eliminate the rattles?

How much weight would you expect to add to the car by just matting the trunk?

Dynamat, no.

E-dead from Elemental Designs, yes.

Everyone will have a differing opinion. Dynamat does seem to be a bit expensive and can be difficult to install correctly. Most of the others out there will do the same thing. I personally don't have anything.

Yes for the edead, the liquid and the mat are both great.

eliminate rattles? be careful on this one. while deadening products will add mass to panels and make things quieter, it might not eliminate all of the rattles. use things like closed cell foam, window insulation, and thin rubber to take care of rattles. put this stuff between the 2 rattling surfaces and no more rattles!

anywho, i do recommend deadening your car anyway. the results are very satisfying. ;)

The only thing id do is use Frost King.

You can find it at lowes and Home depot. It provides a solid sound barrier and weighs less then 3 pounds per roll.

The guys over at Corvette Forum in the C5 section love the stuff for reducing road noise and improving their stereos.
