I would think you would want to have them painted near you so that they match your car. Black can get mismatched.

I take it these are put on with 3m tape? If so are they eventually going to fall off either way or does the tape hold that well? And how would I find out if this is a legal mod in Saskatchewan Canada. Someone in my town had their taillight covers painted and I believe the RCMP made them scrape it off :eek:

No the tape holds very well and I wouldn't think that they are against any laws. They don't cover any of the lighted sections.
