Since the fate of the Stanley Cup has been pretty much written for 2006, I guess it's time for something new.

So lets hear it...Who's supporting who for the World Cup in Germany.

I guess mine is pretty obvious right now.

Deutschland Uber Alles!!!

Should we tell the British government to send over an official to watch over you and make sure you behave. Like they've done over in Germany.

There are actual British Cops (Bobby's as they call em) in Germany to watch over the British fans, cause they are notorious for causing raucous.

To be honest...While Germany is a strong team, I don't think they'll have what it takes to win the big prize.

Brazil is still favoured to win...And yes they have beautiful ladies....very beautiful...I might go out along Bloor Street West this weekend to catch some of the eye candy.

Dude...That is such an awesome idea!!!! Would ya mind if I borrowed that from ya?
Nice big-a$$ German Flag on my rear window....Maybe I'll just borrow one of my Oma's actual flags and wrap it into the seems of the hatch around the window...

I have a Germany flag all set up...Was driving around Scarborough honking at everyone else who had a flag...The Italians and Greeks were not impressed!!!

I'd definately let her do me!!!

Keep those pics coming.

I know Greece isn't in it...But they're still flying them.

Flag on the hoods eh...the pretty bright of em...So when the wind catches it, it raises up and blocks the drivers view...Smaaarrrrrttttt

One word for for both....GINO's!!!

Thats why a kraut (like myself  ) would put a flag on the back:

1) It won't effect my vision going forward.

2) We drive so bloody fast, the only way anyone would see it is being on the back, cause we're always passing people!!!

BERLIN, BERLIN, WIR GEHEN NACH BERLIN!!!!
:gitrdone:

I will concede that they did not 'OWN' Poland yesterday (in terms of goals scored), but I think that was more due to the spectacular goal tending from them.

Germany was dominating the play and had tons of chances....Just kept getting denied.

Anyway...they won...and they've secured a place in the next round.

CougarBum
06-15-2006, 10:02 AM
Were they really dominating the game Eric? I didnt watch the game, mostly because i have very little interest in it, but as per my mom, she said Germany scored 1 goal in the extended 3-minute play.

Supposidly our goalie was the best they ever had, plus i think my mom has a thing for the goalie too haha... mothers!

I never said anything about dominating the score. I did say Polands goalie was spectacular.

The ball was in Poland's end for 70% of the game....I think that is a dominating percentage!!!

But whatev...we are through!!!

Speaking of winning....ENGLAND scrapes by with the 2-0 win over Trini...awww but I like Trini too...dammit. I hope they can blast Paraguay and make it through in second...keeping fingers crossed.

Saw the paint today...worried that if I did it onb the inside you wouldnt see it because of the bubbling tint...grrrrrrr...and outside, it would come off in the rain...grrrrr any ideas?Where are your flags? Cheapo window ones wont cut it.

MUSKOKN
06-15-2006, 07:47 PM
My window flag is working great....It's gettin all the Trini's, Portugese, English, Italians, Greeks (yes I know they aren't playing, but they are still flying the flags), and everyone else, all worked up.

I went to a Timmies the other day and there was a bunch of Italians all lined up sitting on the hoods of their cars with italian jerseys and flags....Pull up in front of them, and HONK....And I held the damn thing down too.

They were not impressed....Then I blasted some Rammstein and peeled away....HAHAHHAHAHAHAAA. I drowned out their beats....DOO-DOO DI-DO-DO

I caught a bit of it at lunch yesterday...Basically where they scored their two goals.

It's funny...some of the big-name teams are having trouble scoring in the first round. I guess when the pressure is on, they'll all pick it up a notch.

Watch out for Argentina today...They are playing Serbia-Montenegro.

Trini had the Goalkeeper beat. One of the other English players had to save it completely inverted. It was an awesome save, so close!!!!

If you want a crazy place to watch the games go to Wegz in Vaughan. That place was going crazy during the game yesterday.

some nut job just drove through here in his silverado with: 2 window flags, 2 window air sock things, one large flag from the middle window. and, somehow attached to the truck bed he had a GIGANTIC flag. Vehicle looks freakish!! Holy distracting, could you imagine trying to drive behind that?!?!?!

Gee, you think he wants Brazil to win?

I am not a soccor fan at all but with nothing on last night I watched the England Trini game.....England dominated the last 30 minutes of that game in my eyes but every time they got remotely close to the net they were overshooting like mad. Maybe it's because I don't watch soccer alot, but damn they had a lot of oppertunities.

I'm not gonna say they deserved to win...The ball was in the Italian end most of the game, but the Germans just didn't get any decent shots off.

Oh well...GO FRANCE/PORTUGAL........

Winning on penalty Kicks is a really Crappy way to win.

MUSKOKN
07-13-2006, 03:30 PM
I'm on the fence about penalty kicks. I don't think anyone can deny that when the team you are watching is in them, you're on the edge of your seat biting down to your cuticle's.

It's too bad that Italy's win is now marred in controversy....Between spitting incidents last year, controversial throwing of games to get an easy run to the final, and racial bagering against an opponents mother and sister....It's a shame for the real fans of the sport. Instead of talking about Italy's win, everyone is talking about what did/didn't happen on the pitch.

I will say this...They better not strip Zidane of the Golden Ball award. It's pretty apparent that this guy was out of line. He even admitted to saying things that weren't appropriate. He just would confirm or deny the content of his words.

As for my team (Germany)...Dissappointed they lost, but they did get outplayed, and they weren't expected to make it past the semi's anyway...Very very proud of their performance! They be back with a vengance for 2010 in Austria/Switzerland.
