View Full Version : Problems using quick reply

Every time I try to post using the quick reply, it takes forever and only rarely actually works.

I type my reply, I click submit or whatever, and it sits there. The spinny thing at the top does not spin (like the Windows flag would not wave). I get a sand-time thingy mouse instead of a cursor whenever my cursor is not in the typing area. And at the bottom, it says "Waiting for www.newcougar.org..."

Am I the only one having these problems? Could it be looked into, please?

I'm using it right now to type this reply ... no problems at all. Are you letting it complete or are you refreshing the page instead to see the thread?

I let it sit for 10 minutes and it did nothing. It's not my connection, because every other page that I'm on is having absolutely no issues, whereas response from newcougar.org is iffy at best.

I've see it "hang" for a few seconds, but nothing longer than say 5 seconds. It could be a hosting issue where the database might hang for a brief second and timeout.

I wasn't having this issue, but something possibly similar?

After I would read a post and click 'back' to return to the new posts list, it would take forever to go back to it. I would just see a blank screen.

I switched to Firefox and no longer have a problem. The forums seem to go faster with Firefox for some reason.

Firefox is all I use. Except for State Farm. They don't play nice.

don't know if this is related, but just added a post using the quick reply, and typed out my message and hit reply and the next screen was the regular reply screen with an empty text box and didn't post the message.

I've occasionally seen what CJ described but not regularly.
