Alright, I was browsing Ebay to see if there were any misc parts I wanted for the cougar and came across two auctions of particular humor...

--Good ol BS right there :) Quality shafting of money.

--I would like to meet the poor schlep who actually buys those and destroys their poor cougar with them on.

Anyways, just thought i would share the wealth of humorous auctions

Ah, yes, the infamous tornado. I see they've come up with yet another name for it. I expect to start seeing new threads from clueless newbies on the boards asking if it's legit. Sadly, it's not...

As for the coilovers. I've never heard of that particular brand so i can not comment on whether the kit is any good or not.

There are a handful of people running the Matrix Coilovers with no problems and they sell for only $100. If we could change out our supension as easy as a honda civic can I would give them a try, but since the cougar is a rough full day project no thanks.

Here's a link (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=susp&Number=1008630&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=93&fpart=1) to the contour forums on a discussion and test of those coil overs.

It seems like a good buy, and the reviews are good, but I'm always doubtful with the "You get what you pay for."

Plus I can hardly stand at times these 45 tires, compared to the stock 50 tire wall width. I dunno, I like a nice ride. I'm leaning away from lowering the car.

Personally, Im happy with the height of the Coug already. Lowering it would be kinda....eh....to me. But who knows, I might just do it.

I would lower it a bit, but I would definately want something adjustable in case I didnt like the ride, but I would never put that el-cheapo kit on my car. And oh yeah, my brother's g/f installed one of those things in her stang. Lol, she swears it makes a difference.

As far as material is concerned I cant see it being too expensive.

The threaded sleeve, adjusting nut and top hat are all machined aluminum. The only difference I see is that GC anodizes their stuff.

The big difference will be in the springs themselves. But there too, I dont really see a big deal. Basically they are making the stiffest spring they can get in there. So there really isnt much room for variation. My GC springs are about the size of 1 liter bottle and thats it, compare that to the stock or eve lowering springs and you see why the ride is so harsh. NO spring travel!
