so i get my car back early today, like 8ish in the morning, and i had to do the almighty GETTING USED to a brand new clutch again. that was fun i tell ya. stalled out a few times to on the way home.
so im almost a mile from my house and im at an uphill stop light. only car there too. so im listenin to my ACDC LynrdSkynrd Mix CD (god freebird is such an awesome song) and the light goes green. now the whole time i was feathering the clutch and gas to keep from rolling back. so i get off the clutch the way i was used to. BIG MISTAKE. it jumped very hard (like new clutches do) and due to me having it at 2grand already and my foot going down to accelerate, i laid down major rubber all the way through the intersection.
now, thats not bad. so what, i burned some rubber. but there was a local popo coming out of a shopping center about thirty feet from where i stopped spinning my kuhmos. and i didnt see him.
RESULT
85 dollar "reckless driving" Ticket, and i get to blow my saturday morning by sitting thru Improv Comedy Traffic School fer 4 hours
this totally blew my day to pieces. i was mean to everyone ALL DAY today.

Fight it. Like really, you've got the receipt. Tell the judge you just got a new clutch and were on a slope. If he doesn't throw it out and tell the cop to go **** himself, THEN you're screwed. But you've got a legit excuse, and proof. FIGHT IT.

yeah good call man, a buddy of mine once didnt realize he was in 3ed insted of 1st and when he put it in first he cherped his tires right beside a cop.. and the cop looked but didnt do anything, stuff like that happens they should be reasonable about it.

I would go in and be honest with the judge. You have a brand new clutch (is it aftermarket? or oem?) and were on a slope. Tell him it was an honest mistake with a new clutch and you're making sure it won't happen again.

What Bobbo said. It's a no-**** legit excuse. With any luck the judge will have some knowledge of cars and will understand. Good luck!

But you must consider inflation. 5.85 7 years ago would be about 6.78 today.
