Black Betty vs White Cavi

Going for some coffie at our 2:00am break heading down the strip when I catch a light with a Cavi and a Corsica (they obviously know eash other, people hanging out the window, revving etc) light turns green and they fly off like a bat outta hell, and I just keep up, not racing, just playing. Next light the passanger notices my Cougar, then the driver starts reving at me (I also notice his cavi was dirt slow, older modle ..not the Z24's but not the ecotech) Light turns green and well yeah no chance, got him my 3, 4..maby 5 I donno, it was bad, but very fun :biggrin: :biggrin:

do you go out looking for people to race or are we to believe that everyone seeks out you?? Maybe it is the town that I live in or the fact that I don't drive my Cougar as much because I have a company car also or maybe it's the fact that I'm older and really think a huge ticket for street racing would kind of suck a$$....but I can drive my car to the store or anyplace else without a replay of NEED FOR SPEED taking place:rolleyes:

I had some time so I posted a few races over the week.. and yeah theres a lot of kids that go crusing in my town..thats all there is to do, cruse until 12:00 then go to the clubs. Small boring town, and I work nights starting at 11:00pm so when am I driving my Car , 10:30 10:45 down the same street all the kids crusing are, and when they see a younger guy in a little black Cougar, they want to race me. Most of these happen in my 15-20 drive to work every night, so nope dont go driving around looking for races :)

I wouldn't waste the gas or wear and tear on my car on 90% of those cars. I think half the fun of racing is picking cars that are competition. At least be cool and give em a head start.

I would agree with that statement. If i raced every honda or v6 stang/camaro that tried to get a run with the T/A I would have to go to the gas station once a day. I pick my fights. over the last month the only cars I've raced are a 2000 T/A with rear mount turbo, 3200 stall, and drag radials(of course i lost) and the other is a 78 camaro with a 350 bored .30 over, heads, cam, intake manifold, carb, ignition, 100 shot nitrous(he ran out of nitrous halfway through the first run. Beat him everytime.5-6runs.

moral of the story: you dont have to race every time you get the chance. Pick your fights and make them worth your time and the great risk. One day you might get caught.

Lets see where to start! You Never beat the dodge rams either of them. I know because I have owned both types and a cougar. The dodges will take the cougar plus most people that drive trucks wont waste gas on a little car wanting to race them! RX -8 Drive one everytime I'm home thanks to my grandpa. Nope no way not gonna happen even if he was the world worst driver and grinded first second and third he would still beat you!. The Grand AM GT nope Owned one faster off the line and in the long run just a tad heavier! Any of the trucks I can almost gaurentte if the driver was trying would have murdered you unless it was a LARGE truck that is diesel and I'm talking 3500 for both companies not the 1500's the 1500s will own! just because your mind is telling you that everybody is trying to race you doesn't mean they are! I have been away from the site for awhile actually I have only really be back for the last week, and in that time I have seen roughly 8 posts by you if not more claiming that you raced someone! yeah all i see is a red x too, and the with the RX-8 search black betty v.s RX-8 and you'll find the story, like i said he didnt know how to drive and totally missed 3'ed and perty much gave up (because I was already ahead of him b/c the dumbass cant launch worth a hoot)

umm trucks yeah not that fast, don't even get my started, the turbo desils are faster then 1500's.

If you search half of these are on here and I tell you how it was done... Grand Am GT, i talked to the guy after, yes it was close but I still had him (if you look thoes cars up they fun 15.9)

umm lets see here, and most of thoes little petty cars, were in the first few months of having the car, I loved to drive it, and was wondering how it would do. I've had the Cougar for less then a year so I still love to drive it and race..etc.

and I dont think everyone wants to race me, i drive across town to work through like 20 lights, thats how i get all of these races. and if the guy revs his engine, and gives me a nod..then SPINS HIS TIRES when he takes off...im thinking he's racing...or everyone just doesnt know how to let off the clutch in my town without spinning the tires :shrugs: maby were all crazy?!?

and I'm guess thoes red X's are pictures of smashed up cars...like I said before I dont go nuts when I race...I rarly take it over 50mph (or 80kmph)..nothing too bad can hapen at thoes speeds... the odd story with a higher speed is out on the highway with no one around and look i'm still here so i think i'm doing something right. The Cougar is also an easy vehical to control because it's not that fast, I dont have to worry about my tires breaking lose and losing it like a 427 corvette stingray would.

What i'm saying is that more stuff can happen if your going 90 in a 30, compared to 45 or 50 in a 30. actually noob, it's exactly like that:rolleyes: i can't tell you how many kids have run out in front of me chasing a ball. or some stupid person who decided NOT to use the crosswalk. please......speeding is speeding moron. if someone darts out in front of you.....your probably going to hit them. whether your going 30mph or 90mph. hell, i saw an accident in a parking lot. neither party where going over 25mph. even that was enough to cause some damage.

i served jury duty and a woman was being charged because a man ran out in front of her. she was going no more than 20mph in her 93 nissan sentra.....he's dead.

You know you are right, I'm not saying nothing can happen from a street race because it definatly can. But I'm also saying that where i race (and time) there isn't any kids playing at 10:30 at night, its a nice wide road with 3 lanes on each side, divided no sidewalks just on one side for about 20ft. with little or no traffic at all. and yes 25mph can cause quite a bit of damage, 10 can cause lots too. from what i read the most serious accidents occur at night and when the car has multiple occupants.

Everyone knows the consequences of street racing. I'm not gonna tell him not to. It's his choice and he has to live with the consequences of his actions. Just remember every race gets you one step closer to being dead or in jail.

I just think that he needs to choose the races a little more wisely. At least don't think that racing a cavalier is cool. No cavaliers are cool or even fast unless they are heavily modified and even then you prob won't see those in a street race.

Try racing some cars in your class such as:
Turbo VW
Turbo Eclipse (stock)
Toyota Celica GT / GTS
Tuarus SHO
Older V8's
Mustang GT auto
Hyundai Tiburon
or any ricer just to laugh at em

Ohh and nearly any auto V6 / 4 banger isn't much of a challenge with a MTX V6
