So, since i've gotten my WRX, which has only an exhaust it seems everytime I'm on the highway someone wants to, or tries to race me. This has included everything from civics, to sti's, to even a lotus the other day.

However, yesterday a silver Lincoln LS with the windows blacked out and exhaust pulls up next to me and rolls his window down. He takes off, lets off and comes back even. I was almost laughing, not knowing anything about it except that it was a lincoln, and it couldn't possibly be fast. I figure, what the hell, why not. So we're lined up and he takes off, I quickly shift into third (we're doin about 60 i think) and started to pull on him. I shifted to 4th and blew by him, but not as fast as i thought i would. We both slow down, give each other the ol' thumbs up, and I take my exit.

Anyways, it's not much of a kill story to say i beat a luxury car, but are these things fast?? The engine sounded nasty, so i assume it was a V8.

BTW, stage 2 is ordered, then it's time to hit the track.

The early models had a V8 and mtx option. The later ones are atx's.

they go perty good, the come in a 3.0L Duretec and also the 4.6L V8 which is quite peppy... good for highway runs I hear.

Good kill none the less!

They dont have a 4.6 in them. They have a 3.9L V8 like the Tbirds had.

The latest version of the T-bird had a 3.9 v8, and so did the Lincoln LS.

The 3.8L V6 in the older T-Bird was affectionately known as the head-gasket-blower, and is a OHV pushrod motor. The 3.9 V8 is DOHC.

You could only get the MT (no X ;)) on the 3L Duratec LS. The 3.9L V-8's were all chained to an autotragic.

Opps my bad on the 4.6L I didn't know Ford made a 3.9L V8, thats mainly the resond I said 4.6L (Becuause I knew it did come with a V8). Oh yeah and the Marauder (If thats how it's spelt) has the 4.6 Mustang engine I hear :)

The 3.9L V8 is related to the Jag 4.0L. The Jag engine has since been bumped to 4.2L and a 4.3L version is used the Aston Martin Vantage.

In Lincoln trim it was 252 hp until a couple years ago when it was upped to 280 hp.
