has anyone used one of these short shifters? link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cougar-Racing-Short-Shifter-FORD-Focus-Zetec-99-02-ZX3_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQitemZ8070254 790QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)
I've been watching for a B&M for a good price, and came across this one that's a buy-it-now for only $34. it's chromed instead of alumn., but wondering besides that if there's any other differences that would make saving so much money worth it.

soooooorry... must have been tired. I was thinking Cosmo was the name of the seller... hadn't even thought to search it out as a brand.

but think I'll get either a fidanza or b&m

I have a B&M and love it. All i can say on this subject is,"You get what you pay for."

thats right, i paid for a 35$ shifter and got a 35$ shifter that has lasted for 3 years so far. everyone is entitled to their opinion but mine is that with B&M all you get for your extra money is a brand name.

That is true paying for some of the name. Like you said, everyone has their own opinion.

I should get the shifter in the next few days, and probably put it in next weekend. I'll be sure to post what I think of it.

Oh, I should be able to put my stock shift knob on it, right?

of course not... that aftermarket shifter requires a custom drilled 8-ball knob with a flaming skull on it... duhhh:crazy:
