So as I was saying in a different thread I have a work buddy with a Camero (stock, V8-320hp, atx). My Cavi buddy was telling me how it didn't pull hard on him at all :crazy: until I was talking to Camero dude last night, he was telling me he's missing some sensor so his car doesnt start in first from a stop, and the only way he can get it into first is if he punches it from a 40km/hr roll.
Now knowing this I knew my doors were going to be blown off if we raced, so i asked him to race from a 40 roll..
WOW :eek: three honks and that dam thing just pulled, easily stretching it's legs. She pulled about 2 cars right away, and just kept pulling...I had the Cougar in third and it was STILL pulling hard on me.:biggrin: that thing is SWEEET!
we did a few from a dig, so with him starting in second, I only won once lol :rofl: :rofl: but all in all he perty much made a joke out of the Cougar..which was totally expected.
Dam I love that Amearican Muscle...this makes me want to buy a Mustang even more:evil: :biggrin: :biggrin:

just a small correction:in 95 camaros only had 275HP and 325TQ.
EDIT: just a bit more info: the quarter mile time for a 95 Z28 was 14.2.

I still wanna beat a stang gt. I can actually pull on them for a bit from a 40 roll, but once I hit 70 they stomp me. Well, the auto v8's that is.

I think the cougars need a 6th gear to help you in the higher speeds.

hmm maby I'm mistaking the year then, because he did tell me his car was rated at 320, unless he's full of :bs:
and I think having a 6-speed would be SWEET!

The only way he has 320HP is if he has a 98-00 SS. Z28's only had 305 from 98-00 then 310 from 01-02. SS's had 320 from 98-00 then 325 from 01-02.

true...but in truth those are bs hp #'s. most LS1's (98-02 F Bodys, 97-05 Corvette, 04 GTO) put down the same hp, no matter what
they were underrated from GM to give the corvette the advantadge. A4's put down about 270-290 stock and M6's about 310.....to the wheels

^ I wish Ford simply did that. Instead of actually underpowering the cars for big brother Mustang, they'd under rate the actual power numbers. Come on Ford!

This is very true but unless he has had his engine dyno'd i doubt he would know the exact number and saying 320 would be a guess. If someone asks me how much HP my T/A has i will tell them 325 b/c thats what GM says I have and i have noway to prove otherwise.

yeah thats a good point, its weird i know its not a 98 but he says he has the LS1, I donno... it still haulled ass tho lol

If it is a pre-98 and has an LS1 it is not stock. Although he might have swapped a stock LS1 into his LT1 car. Then he might be able to say his car is stock with a straight face.
If it is an LS1 it should do the 1/4 in about 13.5-13.8 depending on tires and other conditions.

On a side note: Even if the camaro is faster atleast you know the cougar has more style.

HA yeah the Cougar is definatly a sexyer car, his was kinda rough looking (and of course mine was super clean as it always is)
Yeah and thats the engine he had LT1! it was that for sure, I didn't think it had 320, i kept on saying 280 or 240 but he would always correct me with 320. Although he's the second owner I don't believe it had any type of engine swap.. just the Z28 decal but its definatly not an SS!

Yeah i know what ya mean on the whole camaro/firebird guy thing. Since i've gotten the T/A i've run across many and most of them a pricks. Out of maybe 3 dozen only a hand full are cool and act normal. I love my T/A but hate the people associated with them.

Yeah its like the foxbody mustang aditude...some are awesome guys but most are pricks... i work with this other dude i work with had a '01 i think T/A ram air...reall nice car and awesome guy, totally normal. But I definatly love the T/A's over the Camaros, way better styling for sure....and that hood= sex
