has anyone ever looked into putting the intake manifold from the svt focus on a cougar? i know they swap the svt manifold on to a zetec focus and there are people talking about doing it on zx2's. the a how to on focus fanatics. it seems the svt manifold has different runners or something that operate during different rpm's. im not really too sure about any of this i just skimmed through a few articles on the zx2 and focus forums. here's the link to the how to on focus fanatics.

i've done a lot of looking into this. the way the svt mani works is that there are a set of long runners and short runners. one set is designed for the lower rpms and the other set is for the high rpms. the rmp switch u need to get like it says in the how-to, activates the switches to open and close the runners at the set rpms. as well as buying the manifold u need a lot of other parts, like it says in the how-to. as i understand it, there's not much power gain from doing this, but u get move even power through out the whole band of rpms. i've also heard that this set up is a no-no if u're going for some form of forced induction. there's another focus group that i've been following to get some more info called focaljet. devinately check them out cuz they're really knowlegable in this area.

not worth doing my friend look into forced induction more power for the money then you wont need the manifold
