Well as I posted I traded in the Cougar the other day, now I figure I'll list how I screwed em lol

List a problems on the Cougar:

1)Sunroof broken (well known track issue)

2)pass window went up but not down, cause fried wiring (cut and switched wires, then went down so the down wires were fried somewhere)

3)Wife's old radio installed, without wiring harness and not hooked up at all

4)non power seats and non air bag seats....car did come with them and leather

5)car was repainted a different color and wasn't the best paint job LOL

6)both rear calipers were seized

6) both rear pads were toast

7)both rear rotors were toast

8)ebrake cable was seized

9) abs sensor on pass front was cracked...causing the abs to go on whenever it wanted

10)abs fuse was pulled due to above issue

11)all 4 struts were blown

12)driver side stabilzer end link was broken

13)clutch was toast and 5th gear slipped alot

14)car slipped out of gear way too often

15)hollowed out cat and precats

16)car failed emissions on monday hehehe wonder why

17)upon turning the car off you could still see blue smoke coming out the tail pipes pretty bad so it was burning oil somewhere

18)very bad stumble at low rpm's, possible the "new and improved" fuel pump was going again as it was worse when turning

19)I beat the piss out of that car, and ran nitrous alot for a bit. I was constantly dragging the car.

20)temp guage was going above normal lately, I had previously had a burnt out rad temp switch...might have happened again

21)no wheel center caps, 15's on car...came with 16's.

There's more, but I can't remember it all at the moment.

I always found they just add the trade in value to the price of the new car. So really you get nothing for it. But as long as you're happy!

Not true in my case. GMS pricing ensures my starting point before rebates and taxes.

Thats why when your negotiating for a new car...You don't throw in the trade until you have shopped around a few dealers for the 'best price' on the car itself. Then you throw in the trade and slap em around a little.

Cause your right...They will try and hold gross in the new car to bump the trade value up.

It doesn't really matter anyway...The bottom line is how much comes out of your pocket when you take delivery of the new car.
