I am expecting to pay over $100 but as blackcoog got his on ebay for $161 new, i was hoping to get a slightly used one for a good bit cheaper or a new one for around that price. color - if they were all the same price i would get black or magenta (it's for the wife) but won't be too picky about it

I got mine from the Alltel store for $99 after $100 mail-in manufactures rebate, so maybe you could get one from Alltel and unlock it to use on your T-Mobile network?

You got it at that price because I'm sure you have service through them....the won't cut someone a deal if they are not going to use it on the service they provide. A lot of times if you look at the price cards at Alltel they have the price for 1 year of service, 2 years of service and a no-service price.

or if you;ve had T-Mobile service for a while, call them and see how much credit you have toward new equipment. if you've had your service for a while and haven't 'cashed' out any credits, you can normally get about the same deal as someone coming in for new service. think I paid $149 (then got $100 back on the rebate) around christmas and they've gone down since then.

So then call them up, tell them you want to cancel service because you found a better deal at verizon. Then, they will transfer you to their retention department, and you can haggle with them. I just got a new phone today, a Samsung A900 w/bluetooth headset for $90 TOTAL. Shipped to me next day too. Keep in mind, these guys get paid commission to make sure you stay with the company, hence - retention department.
