The plugs that go from my rca to my amp are bent and don't work unless i press on them. Can i buy and replace the plugs or will i have to buy a whole new rca?

I don't see why not. You should be able to cut the existing male connectors off, strip your cables back a bit, and put new male connectors on without much trouble at all. Just pick up a good quality set, not the low-end ones at Radio Shack.

That's what i thought. Thanks for the confirmation that is a whole lot easier than running a brand new rca.
Would be kinda like throwing the baby out with the bath water or something.

actually i would just spend the $20 and buy new RCAs.
Do you know how to solder very small connections? its going to be a pain in the ass to get it right. you'll be working with TINY wire.

Seriously, 7-8 bucks plus solder time, or 20 for new RCA's. Think about it. Get the new rca's and save yourself the trouble.

I don't disagree, personally. But he asked if he could, which he can. *shrugs*

I tried to repair my $150 monster cable 4ch RCAs and my $100 sub RCAs... The damn ends kept breaking off.
I spent way too much time carefully soldering only to end up loosing sound quality. I am professional and no matter how well i did the repair, the cables never sounded as good anymore.

I did what i said i was going to do and it works fine. Didnt have to buy and run new rca. Got it all hooked up and mounted the amp saturday. Sounds great. Ofcourse this is just a quick fix until i get brand new everything for my system, so i can see where your coming from if you already got a really good set up.

RCA's believe it or not have a lot of R&D into noise reduction and shielding. Most are some type of twisted pair, and soldering new ends on will really mess things up - especially if you're using a cheap lead based solder. Spend the money and do it right!!
BTW, someone mentioned their ends breaking off all the time. If you were truely a pro then your amps would be mounted and secured as well as your wires and this would be NO PROBLEM!
As far as wires being $20... WHERE!? Get some good ones - you can pick up some really good Stinger Expert series or PG (forget the model) for like $60 that are 1000x better.

You can get a really nice set of RCA's on ebay for $20-30. Although they are not the "best" which would be used for a comp car, they will get the job done and to most people, would not even notice a difference.
Check out Stinger Hyper or Dream series

I'm running Stinger Bullit series RCA's and HPMs for everything else.

My amps ARE mounted thank you.
The RCA end design was dont done well and the ONLY thing holding the lead to the main wire where the electrical leads themselves. Two tiny ass wires. I could slap monster cable. Those wires where a pain in the ass to disconnect from the amp.

Yeah I have 3 sets of the Rockford Matrix's that go for well over $100 a piece and you can seriously barely pull them out of the amp. I dread having to disconnect the RCA's for fear of breaking them.
