crap..whats the party school party school up there? I can't remember..one of our members is up there, then we have one in Santa barbara who dissappeared...One was deported. Another has so much school and work he just can't find the time...man we're becoming extinct.

David down here goes to UCSD. UCSD isn't really a party school but people still have them. SDSU is a big party school, I will either be going there this fall or the one after this one but I can't forget about you NECO peeps. IF you are really afraid of NorCAL dying you can try recruiting I guess, or you can admit So-Cal is better and become part of us!

And I pretty much forgot the URL to NECO for a while there.
But I'm now done with finals. Yay.
Only three semesters left.
I'm headed to The OC in a week to get back to work on the Coug.
So perhaps in another month or two, I will qualify for NECO membership again ;)

Oh, I thought you lived in Irvine. But I also thing I remember either Ty or Joe telling me you didnt. I don't know, just another reason why you shouldn't do drugs I guess.

Monday, a bit of yard work, replaced the steering column on a F-350 and drank beer, that's about it. Sunday spent the day in SF.

Saturday, my borthers graduation from SF state. Sunday I had to BBQ for his party all day. Monday I came to work ato change back up tapes, watched Xmen 3 and went grocery shopping. Went home made dinner and watched tv.

SF state is one of those schools I was accepted to that I should've gone to over SDSU, if I went to SFSU I would probably be a junior in the fall.
I finished filimg the cougar, when we heard rent-a-cops calling the real police over the radios we called it a day and decided to go with what footage we had. Some of it came out alright but with only a cheap steady cam, hi8 and HDV camera we didn't get the pro sort of look we wanted. We only used a small portion of video ignoring most of the "faster" shots and such for this "release". It's only practice for next time I guess.

You noticed. This video will be replaced eventually becuase of that and it's 70mb
Im not sure if it was the camera settings or the settings on our software but it didnt do it in the normal 4:6 aspect ratio but some sort of widescreen setting. Our camera man sucked also, he typically would've driven or did some other job but he doesn't know how to drive a standard transmission which our chase car had. My buddy patrick very experienced in film and is employed by a local station and is really good at filming in all sorts of situations but we couldnt use him becuase he had to drive.

Make a cheap steady-cam rig. Hang the camera out the side of the car, use a piece of carpet on the steadcam so it doesn't scratch the side of the car, and let it record from a slightly lower point, get a better aspect on the car. :)
Also make sure if the camera is set for 16:9 widescreen then you import it as that.
Like with iMovie or Final Cut, you have to make sure the project is set up to be produced as widescreen, etc.

ok, fixed the widescren issues and changed some of the MPEG rendering settings to reduce the file size. We did have a cheap steady-cam we made out of piping we got from homedepot but I didnt want it hanging out of the car.
Looks great in High-def, even better in widescreen.

A few things bother me. we kept getting shots of the damn chase car(s) in the view and at one point my friend's head makes a cameo.
We couldn't tape at night becuase lighting was bad and during the day we had to wait for traffic to pass us by before we could start the camera. Memorial day turned out to be perfect becuase there was nearly no traffic.
