So I got my headers finished tuesday and decided to take the car down to the track as every tuesday is test and tune day at gateway. Waiting for the first run a GTP that you could here the supercharged winning at idle. I lost to it but I saw this red supra in front of me. I saw that it was an SE and that there was no exhaust tip so i figured this guy has just got it. After the first race I pull up and the supra pulls right along next to me. One of the cars that was before us broke down and we had to wait in which my friend who was in the stands called me. We talked and I asked him if he thought I would win a against the supra joking. the mess on the track got cleaned up and we both lined up. The light start and I had a great reaction time. Go through first and I am ahead go through second and im still ahead and loving the power that the MSDS headers have given the car. Turns out I smoke the supra by 8 tenths of a sec.
He could not drive to save his life but I can still say that I beat a supra.

Dont pat yourself on the back just yet, it was NA. Those things are pigs.
If it was a TT in the stock form, it would have waxed you.

yea I ran a 16.1 which may not be all that great but my tach has been sticking from putting the needles on to tight and the tach in general is laging.
He ran a 16.9 which was godawful
The second race i ran a 15.9 and he beat me by a fender.
Half of me wanted to go up to him and ask him if he wanted someone who could drive run the supra and see what it would really run but i figured that would kind of be an ass hole thing to do.

yeah no offence good kill and all, espically if it was turbo. But a stock cougar should be running 60 flat. then again you mentioned your tach sticks so i guess thats not too bad.. :shrugs:

what are you talking about 60 flat? I am guessing you meant 16.0 flat.
But anyways with your mods you should be good for a few more tenths off your time. Then again your elevation and humidity/temp will affect your times as well.

yeah now that i got my stock cougar engine in (blew up the svt engine) but anyway last wedsnday i ran a 15.6 with a stock engine, well got the k&n filter but what does that do! i race only 3 times, the 1st i got a 15.9, (raced against a svt focus, he ran a 16.15, 2nd race i got 15.69 (raced a 95-99 RS camaro, he ran 15.75, and the ;ast race i got a 15.61 (raced against a nicely modded SRT-4, he ran a 14.23 , but hey i got my best time and thats all that matters right there!
