I'll be heading there this Friday to purchase yet another SVT Contour and bring it home... anyone nearby? I heard that it was close to STL..:confused:

Looks like it's just north of Collinsville, so it isn't too far from STL.

I don't think anyone lives on the "east side", except Kougar4 aka Jeff. Hes going to a college not too far away but its almost all the way to Missouri, I think near woodriver... But you wont be that far from downtown St Louis if you want to do some sight seeing or whatever ;)

Moraki is almost correct. I live in Wood River, IL which is 15 mins from Maryville, but I am no longer in college, although I did attend SIU of Edwardsville which is 7 mins form Maryville.
Are you looking to meet up with some people on Friday?

not sure yet... it all depends on if we attempt to make the trip all at one time or stop somewhere for the night and then head home the following day.
any recommendations on a cheap safe place to stay in the area or headed on the way home so both my car and ourselves can rest for a bit? If we stay over for the night perhaps we could meet for supper or something for a bit? :)

There's a few hotels in Collinsville near the Gateway Conventoin Center that are decent. One's a Holiday Inn, and I think there is a Hampton Inn as well. Don't know what they cost though.

If you do decide to say, all the hotels are mostly in Collinsville. There is also a Drury Inn that my family always stayed in when they came down to visit me. It seemed nice. Anyhow all the hotels and resturants are on 157 off I-55.
