Ok a couple more queshtions-- I noticed that there were a few hopefully minor details that were not working on the 35th Edition that I just purchased. Maybe these are simple fuse issues??
For one the rear defroster does not work - no heat and the light does not come on .
Second on the OEM Navigation panel, the icon that shows that something is open such as a door, trunk, etc is constantly lit. Low and behold that little yellow enemy was NOT lit when I drove it, but as soon as I got shoved out the door while sitting in the LOT, it comes on , and yes everyone had left... I hate to say it, but its like the icon was attempted to be covered up with some paint or nail polish or something, its red around it like they tried to cover it up so it wouldnt be seen... GrRRRRrr
Also on the navigation panel, the 12 second delay/security feature does not work either. Is is possible that some of these things are linked together?
I checked all the contacts on the doors and trunk to make sure all were sealed and were communicating with each other...
Any suggestions welcome.

For the defrost, I would guess maybe the switch is unplugged or possibly bad since neither the light or the defrost is working. It could also be a blown fuse. Your owners manual should tell you which fuse controls it.
Not sure about the door ajar light...
Does your interior light work otherwise? Just doesn't stay on for 12 seconds?

If you go here and register, you can download a copy of the manual.

Somethings wrong with your door switchs. A fuse wont stop the door ajar light from working properly, it just wont come on. I'm a tad confused ... so the door ajar lamp is shutting off when the doors are closed? Oh and not to sound like an ass or anything but you do have 12 seconds selected on the upper console right?
Rear defroster is #29 a 30amp green fuse under the dash.

Check all the switches around the doors, under the hood, and trunk. The door ones look rectangular, surrounded by a rubber boot on the actual latch. Check the hood one. It looks like a round button by the passenger side headlamp.
As mentioned, the defrost is probably a blown fuse, switch not connected, or even faulty.

Yes all switches were checked, the light stays ON or is "constantly lit" as stated above, and the 12 second security feature was officially selected... However a no go...

Well then i would say one of those switches is definately bad.
Try pressing the switch yourself not by using the door. I know at least the drivers side... is just inside the clasp part on the door jam. When im working on the car and dont want the car to think the door is open i put a little wedge in the loop to turn it off. If that doesnt help try opening each switch and by passing them with a loop.

>^..^<Sounds like you don't know how to properly inspect a car before you buy. Dealer purchase? If so, you should have a 3k mile/3 mo warranty or similar so go get it fixed.

My DOOR AJAR light was on when I bought my car as well. It turned out to be the switch on the trunk latch. Everything looked fine, but when I punched the button my hand, the alert went out. It was worn down to where the latch alone wasn't pressing the button in far enough.
