View Full Version : Yes, this rain sucks, but...

...at least it isn't snow. My rain guage here at home (Clinton, MI) says I've received over four inches of rain the last few days. If all of this had been snow, think of what we'd be under. Pulled this off the internet:
"A good average number is that about a foot of snow is equivalent to one inch of water. But this number is highly variable, and in particular is strongly dependent on temperature. If the temperature is above freezing, an inch of liquid might correspond to six inches of snow. This is called wet snow. If the temperature is around 30 degrees, ten inches of snow might equal an inch of rain. And if the temperature is only 10 degrees Fahrenheit, it might take 18 to 24 inches of snow to equal one inch of liquid water. This is called dry snow, or powder snow."
Meaning depending on temperature and humidity, at best I'd have 24" of snow in my yard, and at worst eight feet! Let it rain...as long as my sump pump works.

Its not suppost to stop for at least a week, either. =(
Problem is, I need to get the Cougar back here in the D, but my hatch still leaks. Looks like I'll just have a wet hatch during the drive. :P
Anyone have any recommendations on the route to take from Jackson to I96/Beech without taking M14?
