ok, not sure to post in here or in the tranny senction, but the problem is interrelated. here we go:

somehow, all my axle stuff got thrown away (probably for the dued who scours the area for scrap metal...SOB!!!!) so now i had to order new axles from Drive shaft shop. but i also need the bracket and the mid shaft......oh ya i am doing this with an ATX!!!

now here is the thing, what bracket do i need? the one bill j sent me doesn't line up with any of the holes on the block. thats why i posted here. b/c of the holes on the block do i need to buy a bracket designed for an '02 escape? will the rest of the axle stuff then line up?

see, i can look up all these parts and diagrams and stuff, but i wouldn't have the slightest idea at what i am looking at.

please help

The driver's side is easy- It's just a complete halfshaft.

The passenger side has several parts- A jackshaft that extends from the transaxle, a bearing that's mounted on the jackshaft, a black bracket with two studs to hold the jackshaft bearing, and three bolt holes that connect to any V6 Duratec made- The holes have to line up- The mounting boss exists, and the holes are threaded. They're there...

Then, the halfshaft itself plugs into the jackshaft and goes into the passenger side hub.

ok the bracket i have has 3 holes. i can get it so that only 2 of the holes line up. so i can still use it but just bolt it on with just 2 bolts?

and tell me: i got 2 axles from DSS that are of equal length. is the drivers and passenger axles the same length? i had to buy the mid shaft from bill j along with the bracket. but if i put those in place the axle is too long. in addition the axle has 2 male ends and so does the mid shaft. so either the axle is supposed to have a female and, or there is a joint somewhere that i need to get that has 2 female ends.

i really should have paid attention when i pulled out my old stuff and furthermore, i should have put that stuff in a pile with a "do not touch me" sign on it.

either way, thanks for the help

Take pictures and post them because that bracket should have all three holes lining up or you are doing something wrong. Is the axle pushed in all the way? Maybe Bill J. sent you the wrong bracket.
