joey? rob? brian? who will be the lucky winner!!!
hey guys, i could really need your help. well, the wife and i decided not to get into more debt in getting another car so i'ma try to fix up the coug. i could really use some of you guys' mechanic skills cuz well, i'm afraid of just lifting the car with a jack! hey, it could fall on top of me you know :(
well, if you could help me out, i'd really appreciate it. it needs to have a motor mount replaced, the one that's on top, right next to the coolant reservoir. i probably also need to replace the a/c condenser cuz i think it's going bad and makes noises when the a/c is turned on.
so wat do ya say? maybe we could barter or some monetary compensation... or we could barter.
joey, i can get you some convicts. imagine, running targets to sharpen your shooting skills plus the loot after we hijack a bank.
rob, i could start on that website and maybe help you cover the domain/other fees.
brian, i can umm... i dunno, stop harrassing your car in the utsa parking lot?
josh, ummm.. i think all you know how to do is replace your stock lights for ricer blue

hehe... sorry joshy boy. i forgot you can also install eclipse spoilers
basically, it's just that mount. i had 2 other mounts replaced but i didn't know about that other moutn. it needs to be ordered from the dealership and is around 100 bucks. then the stupid a/c condenser (or compressor? what's the name) makes noise so i think it's wearing out. oh yea, i had all struts replaced which has made them squeak when they i go down on a street bump so i dunno if they were not greased or what.
AND I HAVE TO GET THAT DAMN A/C VENT TO STAY FROM POPPING OUT!
i would really appreciate if someone could help me out. i've spent so much money taking it to car shops. if i have an advantage, it's at detailing so i can barter doing an as-pro-as-it-gets detail with whatever tools i or you have.

Well I believe the condensor has nothing to do with the noise, it might be your compresser wearing out.

hehe... that's how stupid i am. i don't konw the difference. but yea, it makes a rattling noise when i turn on the a/c only and goes away when i turn it off.

Well I know little about cars also, Now If I'm wrong Joey can correct me but the Condensor I believe is that Blk looking cylinder that holds the freon & the Compressor is connected to the Main belt which is how its powered. Now if your like most Girls lol j/k I'm sure you use your A/C 24/7 even in the rain so it might be wearing & since u got a V6 you'll have to pay a pretty penny to fix it. $1000+ for sure
Now what u need to do luis is find a friend  that knows a good backyard Mechanic to do all the little things on your car, that way the more you go to this one, the more familier he is with your car

i can fix the vent from popping out, and i have a spare set of mounts from that svt motor i bought so let me know which you need and i can save you money from buying a brand new one.also one of the mounts you have to take one of the heads off to replace it, is it my luck that this is that mount???..lol cause dood thats gonna cost ya a pretty penny if you have to take it somewhere, so you know ima jack up the price on ya  j/k but seriously that mount is alot of work (ie: removing timing cover, chains and head)and without pulling the motor is quite a task.
i know zero about a/c so i cant really help with the repair or replacement of the compressor, but i willing to wing it if you really need me too...lol. however from what i've heard if you replace it you have to have the thing vacuumed out and recharged.
i dont know what would cause the struts to squeak. really they shouldnt, its a sealed unit. maybe your springs are squeaking? i could look at those and see if something looks wrong but most likely you have new struts on springs that are worn (not worn out just worn) and its causing a squeak.
bottom line its gonna cost ya one meeeeellion dollars

i think i found a way to fix the ac vent... removing it :(
umm... i had one motor and one transmission mount replaced. the one that they told me i need is the one right next to the coolant bottle, on top, at the same height-level as the UIM. is that the one you say is a PITA? the one shown on the pic (yes, i borrowed your engine).
i figured it'd take something like that for the a/c. i wanna take it somewhere to get a free estimate. i'm just a bit embarrassed cuz i always go places around here to get free estimates, buy the parts elsewhere, and have someone else install 'em. man, they rape you at those car shops.
so the springs could be causing it? i wouldn't doubt it. are they hard to replace?

yup thats the one. if you look at it on the car you can see what i mean. its 2 pieces one piece goes from the wheel well looking part of the engine bay to the motormount. ( its the part that has the spark plug wire holding thing on it) look at the second piece that is bolted underneath that piece. thats the motor mount .....lol and its bolted on underneath the head...lol
and like i said im not sure about the spring/strut thing, but i would lean on springs squeaking before strut squeaking. either way i wouldnt replace them, maybe just oil them down abit.

i was told to replace that part by teh same people who replaced the other two mounts.
do you think you can help me just diagnose problems on it? i can probably have some in-law friends install parts for a very low cost. i just need to know what it has wrong and take them the parts.

yeah i can, thats kinda what im asking. what is the car doing that makes them think the mount is bad?

it acts like it had a bad tranny. when it changes gears, you can feel like the engine moves or something. the guy showed me that day how that mount kinda shakes or something so he was like u need to replace this. then again, i wouldn't know otherwise.
well, thanks rob man. let me know when you have some free time man so we can get together and diagnose it.
