My prediction for the stanley cup:


East: Sabres
West: Anaheim over the sharks


Cup: Buffalo in 7

Actually, whichever team from the East goes will win it. I just don't think the west is all that strong. However, Anaheim is the best equipped out west. They have solid defense, solid goal tending and are quick up front.....much like Buffalo.

the Sharks and Canes are built similarily as well. Both are very strong up front, both are getting more out of thier goalies then anyone thought, but both are mediocre depth wise on defense.

BUT! - I was very happy watching the Edmonton game though... I actually found myself saying a few times "wow...now this is how a team is SUPPOSED to play!" I hope they keep winning.

I'm also surprised at how well Carolina is doing... and I would take them over the Sabers.
Ottawa is playing the worst ever, and still only loosing by 1 goal. - Carolina is dealing with the best goalie in the playoffs, and kicking his ass. the rookie Miller on buffalo wont't stand a chance.

in the west, I hope it will be Anaheim and Edmonton... doesn't need to be TWO damn California teams in the 3rd round :tongue:

In all honesty, and this is coming from a Leafs fan, Ottawa hasn't played all that bad...Buffalo is just playing better. They really came out crashing and banging in game 3, and totally out-paced Ottawa. The games have been close though, and the Sens are battling.

Emery should be cut some slack too. He's got no real playoff experience and he's been doing a great job holding the fort under pressure.

I think it was a bad call splitting up the Alfredson, Heatley, Spezza line in previous games...Smells like a Pat Quinn move, breaking up a top performing line.

Sens deserve credit for a good effort, but I think they're chances are now numbered.

Absolutely! Buffalo deffinitely deserves to win with the way they've been playing... they are sticking to the ottawa players like glue, and playing a much faster game.
And yes, Emery is doing a terrific job... and hes a rookie! Hes not even supposed to be there yet! Its just too bad the other players don't have his back. - and maybe its BECAUSE hes a rookie, they don't give him the same respect as they would if Hasek was in goal...

The city of Ottawa is deffinitely pretty steamed about it all though... Alfredson didn't 'step up' at all really and was the cause of more than a few turnovers which became breakaways. Then in game number two, there was a senator... #14, which Don Cherey pointed out... who made like 7 or 8 REALLY bad plays in the first two periods.

Oh well, at least theres no pressure on them tonight... thhey can just go out and play however they want.
