contact Chris (Amanda will give you his number)

He has his own garage and very cheap labor rate.

When I asked Orange about changing the clutch and the slave cylinder, their estimate:

$400 for parts
$600 for labor

You have to take the entire transaxle out, as well as hoist the engine. My dad refused.

Done a clutch job before, not on a cougar though. It's not that bad, but just takes forever having to remove everything before you do it...

I believe for the cougar the CSVT clutch has a high torque rating and it's cheaper to boot.

Oh yea, and you need alot of beer when you do it.

nother update... things seem pretty kosher now... it was bogging down (just noticably, doesnt throw you around or anything) in 5th gear when i punched it doing 70-75 this AM... but that might be normal now... idk.. anyone?

@tronic: i was all prepared to but i figured id feel it out this week since this past weekend it was pouring constantly and it was hard to really test drive the car the way i needed to... but its only 42$ so if i have to all i need it a pipe wrench to get it off.. that and everything else to remove the UIM (gotta replace a snapped bolt anyways)
