is there a clicking sound when u turn the key, and do u hear ur fuel pump when u turn it, it might be alternator that u need to change, it's normal in cougars(bad alternators)

no the fuel pump doesnt turn on and no clicking. but i just took out the alternator to get it tested. so if its not the problem its just another theory crossed off the list of possible problems
