I'am trying to get my shift tower out and it seems to be stuck inside the transmission because i can move it up and down about half an inch and turn it side to side a coupple inches. Seems like its jammed inside the transmission? The last time I fixed this bolt the transmission was in neautral when it broke, this time it is stuck in first. Does that have anything to do with it being jammed in the trans? PLEASE HELP THANKS

YES!! The only way to get the shift tower out easily is to have it in neutral...that way all the shift forks line up and the tower slides up and out...

If you can, try moving the weighted arm on the shift tower back and forth a little, then try and get it into the neutral position...

Good Luck....worst case scenario....you'll have to pull the tranny out, crack it open and move the forks and everything manually to get the tower free...

well got it out tonight! Just did a whole lot of jamming and moving of shift tower and playing around with it with screwdrivers and **** and got it in neutral then she pulled out. The kicker this time is that the bolt did not shear off this time it just unscrewed itself and feel out. We even lock tighted it when we did it last? But this time we are lock tightening it and wire strapping it so it doesnt fall off again and if it shears off it will just hang there by the wire. All we did was just drilled a hole through the head of the bolt and ran the wire through that. We did not put it back in because we had no gasket so i will take pics of the shift tower and the bolt so then if anyone needs a visual they will have it. aswell i will post a pic of the tool i have used both times to get the bolt out "save you from pulling tranny"
