So I'm driving around with a girly girl and stop at a light, not thinking anyones going to race I accelerate at my usual (generally a little faster then everyone else) then I notice this black dodge ram 1500 get on it, so I stomp on the gas and start pulling away...get about half a car on him, shift to 2nd and I notice him creep up a bit, I push betty to 65k and pull some more, 3ed and I gotta full length on him and shut her down. Meanwhile girly girl is white knuckled grabbing onto the doorhandle hehe.

I was really suprised that truck haulled ass, well for a truck...I didnt notice any hemi badging but yeah good job by the truck.

Man I swear you have more road tales then anyone. So have you gotten a ticket?

haha, no thoes truck are just peppy and he caught me off gaurd, i didn't launch at all, if I knew he was racing I would have walked him (like other hemi rams i've raced) I do have a lot of road tales lol and yeah I've gotten 3 tickets before all for speeding in my old car but none in Betty (Knock on wood) and i've also gotten 2 warning for racing in my old car

The funny thing is my car is totally stock looking, just tinted windows... I donno, maby people just feel intimidated or something with my driving style and thats why they always race me.. hehe and the only races I've lost are against cars that are way outta my league (WRX sti. and an engine swapped civic)... the WRX wasn't much of a race thats why I didnt post it but the civic one is somewhere lol

I donno I raced a hemi dodge before and got him by about a car length, and like i said would have killed the truck if i knew he was racing ...but i think this one wasn't the hemi...if i was i probably wouldn't have been able to catch him. Trucks are just generally slow, I raced some chev SS colorado or something (i donno about the size of an s-10) with 4 people in my car and lost by a car, didnt launch at all and he kept creeping up on the all red.. too bad I didn't notice it was an SS until he was ahead of me. But there have been a few trucks that suprised me, still won but they kept up perty good.

Take a look at this, this is the most decked out Hemi ram, it runs a 15.11, and its 0-60 is a 6.8. Which is on a track not on the street. I raced a Hemi beofore and won but it wasn't the 1500 SLT if I'm not mistaking it was a 2500, little more weight maby different gears? i donno, anyway a 1500 is going to be faster then a 2500 with the same engine it just makes sence. Sorry I didn't mention it was a 2500 before.

I say he won. I saw a modified F250 run a 18.6 at the track the other day. They're "torquey", not necesarily "fast". Trucks aren't made for hauling ass necessarily, but they are made for "hauling" ass. ;) Then again, there are plenty of stock diesels that would stomp our cougar into the ground with ease.

owned one and have to give it to the truck and at the end i'm sure he could have romped on it and he would have been gone.

maby, I donno, he could have just been playing with me, or he could have not known how to drive, they are an atx tho... but the question is why would you have stomped on it, started pulling, and then just shut it down when you were speeding anyways?

Oh come on guys it redlines at 6750RPM or 6800RPM so she still had a little more to go. But ya I did push her hard. Thats as far as I take it tho, to me constantly slamming on the breaks, hitting every pot hole, and cornering like a bat outta hell is worse for your car then 6500RPM.

My dam sig. keeps messin up...im just gonna attatch the pic..

Probably another case of people not realizing they're being "raced."

"Dude... I took this phat GTO off the line, yo... that 80 year-old lady behind the wheel didn't know what hit her baybeee!"

"I came rolling up beside this 6-cylinder Mustang and gunned it... when I looked in the rear-view mirror the dude was on the phone whining about losing to me."

"There I was side-by-side with this S2000... all of a sudden I was gone... the guy driving it realized he was done, so he pulled into a 7-11 to get a paper.

I'm perty sure he was racing, and I just found out tonight from a buddy who knows the guy...Cam or something but anyways it wasn't a Hemi, but it was a mtx, and he also said that the truck is perty quick but nothing to worry about for Betty.

You guys are putting this truck up on a pedestal, giving it too much credit. A truck isn't geared for "racing", like I said before. Top end, our cougar should blow them outta the water. I can beat my friends F150 no problem w/ exhaust, intake. That huge f250 that looked scary and like it could haul balls, ran a 18 something. Seriously, wake up.

THANK YOU! these guys think trucks can drive on water or something, they have lots of torque but they are made to pull sh**. It's like racing a freakin semi.. yeah they got TONS of torque and power but what do they use it for...PULLING. Their high end sucks!

The truck was black just like my Cougar. hows that   lol
